90 players is the off-season roster max. We currently have 55 total players under contract for 2021.

Regarding the Saints' free agents...We have 20 UFA's & 2 RFA's. I have these 22 players listed in bold.

We moved some money around on Brees' contract. We recently released OG Nick Easton & saved 6.0 mil in cap space...with only a 1.0 mil dead money hit. We also waived TE Cole Wick & TE Jason Vander Laan...both of these guys were on the Exempt Covid List in 2020.

I only listed the dead caps of the players that matter in this regard. Players with cap #'s under 1.0 mil don't really matter, & neither do players with dead caps that are too high.

-2021 Adjusted Salary Cap for all teams- 189.122 mil
-Total Cap Liabilities (Top 51) on Spotrac - 254.698 mil
-Total Cap Liabilities (Top 51) on OverTheCap - 252.342 mil
-Total Cap Space Available on Spotrac = (-65.576 mil)
-Total Cap Space Available on OverTheCap = (-63.22 mil)

So, we still have to make some more cuts & restructure some contracts just to get $0.00 in available cap space. Loomis & CSP have their work cut out for them this off-season. This isn't going to be easy & they have some very difficult decisions to make.

Just looking at the numbers...I wouldn't be surprised if Kwon Alexander gets cut soon. Considering his injury history & his contract...this is a no brainer imo. Saves 13.2 mil with no dead money at all.

-Drew Brees - 12.225 mil (2021)...Dead Cap - 22.65 mil...Dead Cap Post June 1st - 11.15 mil

Kwon is an easy cut, the CB position needs to be looked at also for chunk cap saving. Interested to see how many contracts could possibly be restructured but pretty sure that’s how we are in the mess in the first place.

Wouldn’t be surprised if we moved on from one or both of our ‘legs’

Alright, so how we fix this and somewhat keep the team together?

Comparing dollars to production....that d line is crazy. O line does not look bad as well.

I hate it but according to the numbers, cam Jordan may very well be a cut, or better yet a trade. Moorstead as well. Gonna need to hit on a few more picks with some holes to fill.

Good thing D Davis is not the jealous type. Kwon making more than him is silly.

We won't be able to keep all of our elite guys imo.

Looking at the numbers...I think we have to cut/trade either Cam Jordan or Armstead. I just don't see how we can keep those huge cap #'s.

Jack Rabbit's cap # is way too high. Need to do something about that.

As long as we have a good draft...we can make it work. Bad draft & we probably don't make the playoffs imo.

They may move Peat to LT and draft another LT/G and trade Armstead.

Going to need to hit the draft with a couple of homeruns.

Saints need to know what other draft pick Goodell is going to take before trading anyone.

I could see that bastard taking an equivalent pick away to match what the Saints get in a trade.

Cut Kwon yesterday is the first move.

you play A LOT of madden, huh?

1.) peat is and has always been a liability in pass coverage... and your solution is to move him to the one position on the line that is most important in pass coverage?

2.) what do you realistically think the market would be for an aging, injury prone, overpriced LT? hell, if. you and I know these things about Armstead, I'm pretty sure every GM and HC in the NFL does too...

3.) need to hit homers in the draft? you don't say?! I'll get on the horn and let them know they've been doing it all wrong this entire time....

Peat's best position has always been LT but Armstead is just flat out better. Can't pay everyone and it isn't like Peat is terrible at LT.

Marcus Williams resign will be a priority. Don't think you can keep come Cam Jordan and Hendrickson with the money he just made himself this year.

Rankins? Maybe.

Have to restructrue Jack Rabbit if he stays. He out played Lattimore for a good portion of the season.

The easiest.

I'm thinking Emanuel Sanders simply can't stay on that contract, either.

I did say the Saints need to draft a LT.

Peat would have to play LT, while the new drafted LT plays guard.

With some game experience, you move the drafted LT from guard to LT and Peat back to guard.

The homerun drafted pick is your new LT.

The Saints have maneuvered the OL like I described, in the past.

Ruiz will move to center and center will move to guard.

You are a moron poster. Stay on the O-T Lounge.

remind me... how many games did Armstead "start out" at guard? what's that? he didn't... they drafted him as a tackle and he played, let me check my notes here.... tackle...

no, not everyone has to play "musical chairs" on the line...

Ruiz will move to center and center will move to guard.

think so? dunno... haven't seen anything to indicate this... it may happen, once Ruiz is able to make all the line adjustment calls correctly, but if not, his arse is staying at G...

He's been relatively healthy, nicked up but never a major injury.

and compare his cost to other LTs in the league, he's actually one of the more reasonable priced guys. An older Duane brown fetched a high pick and it seems these high caliber LTs stay around late into their career. Who's to say armstead can't play for another 5 years, he's turning 30 this year

I think there's a better chance they move Ramczyk to LT and pay him (while freeing up space). But moving Armstead seems like a > 50% scenario. I hate it, but this is where we are.

Kwon is getting cut and will probably get an incentive deal. Hope we can bring him back, he was perfect in our D. Jack rabbit also played great but is on the other side of 30 and his cap is way to high. So maybe he comes back on a decent salary.

I’m sure Rankins is gone, Hendrickson and Williams who I’d like to resign but will probably get a contract we can’t afford to match.

Redskins had offers of a first round pick for Trent Williams two seasons ago and he was older than Armstead is now.

I'm sure he may be able to.... but again, as I just pointed out, he misses a lot of time with injuries... again, what do you realistically think the market would be for this guy? sure, there are some desperate teams out there, need OL help, but given what we know about him, what do you realistically think we would get in return for him?

you mean former top 4 pick of the draft, only played in 10 or less games twice in 9 seasons Trent Williams?

wonder why he could command such a high price? it truly is a mystery...
