What would our record be if Stan made the change earlier?

And Melli! I really don’t get it. But at least now it looks like we have our rotations figured out

Visa issues early on in the season. Probably took awhile before he picked up the scheme. But he looks a lot different than the first time he was put in a game. What a find though.

While it would have been nice for SVG to play Willy sooner, I still give him credit for figuring it out. He’s new to the organization, didn’t have much of a training camp, and was probably pressured to play Jaxson. We’re still not even a third of the season complete and it seems like he’s now pushing all the right buttons.

Are you not going to play your high lottery pick?

It's just a bad situation all round that he's turned out to be this bad at basketball

He legit looks like he started playing the day before yesterday

I’d be careful to assume it was all SVG.

I’m sure some of it was the visa issue, but also the fact Griff’s true first move in the draft was moving back trying to prove he was the smartest guy in the room by taking NAW and Hayes over Hunter or Garland. The guy getting straight DNP’s his sophomore year probably was not in the cards for SVG until Hayes played himself out of the role

hernangomez is not the reason Pels have a losing record. that one week where we played LAL and LAC back to back, then caught the Utah buzzsaw twice in three days right after to go 1-4 in 8 days is pretty much the sole reason the Pels have a losing record.

The same.

You almost to play Jaxson. You'd hope your #8 pick would progress and he needed minutes. Admit it or not, but Hayes has had multiple games where he put in quality minutes. He didn't cost us any games.

Jaxson ain’t seeing the floor anytime soon. Anyone knighting for him shouldn’t hold their breath.

I love JJ but I wish we would trade him so we could run younger guy rotations.

Kira
NAW
Hart

The same reason Frank Jackson was playing over Moore.

Front office wants to see their players and evaluate them.

As you saw with the slam at the end of the game, Hayes can be a devastating roll man. The problem this year was that we had no Jrue Holiday, who excelled as a P&R initiator. Lonzo and Bledsoe cannot run P&R and get the ball to Jaxson for those kinds of dunks. (Again, as you saw at the end of the game, NAW can, but NAW wasn't playing at all early in the season.)

The other big reason for Jaxson's offensive success last year was our pace, as he's a great finisher in transition. Well, now Gentryball is gone. Early in the season, we were playing at an exceptionally slow pace, and that also limited Jaxson's usefulness.

So, a lot of the reason that it's looked like Jaxson has regressed is scheme. I actually think that playing him with NAW and Kira and Hart would work well, but Hernangomez is just a better fit with most of our lineups.

In SVG's defense, figuring out how players fit together takes time.
