I would rather us take Jacoby Matthews at safety personally. The kid is a big, hard hitting, physical safety. We have been missing that since Grant Delpit has been gone.

Matthews looks like he will grow into a monster sized safety, and as long as he keeps his speed, its something we could really use in the secondary.

Obviously we want Matthews, but we want Anderson as well. LSU is clearly taking 2 safeties in this class. We had 2 committed previously. Matthews and Anderson would be a ridiculously good haul. They are teammates on the bootleggers and that can’t hurt.

It isn’t one or the other. LSU wants both.

Jacoby feels like he is going to turn in a LB per the boards

His game isn't like Grant Delpit at all. Delpit was 180 lbs coming into LSU. As a HS Junior, Matthews is 205. He's going to play LB or some hybrid LB/S.

Or in other words, we missed that kind of player in 2020.

This is the worst take I've read in a while. I really liked Grant Delpit but he was NOT a hard hitting safety. Delpit avoided contact like the plague, usually diving for the feet - not even the knees - the feet!

Jacoby Stevens was a hard hitting safety. I think you will like Davis. This guy is big, fast, and tough.
