Faulk has got to be one of the most underrated running backs of all time. Dude seemed to just do everything Right, Including the dirty work

I agree with those rankings. Peterson, Whitworth and Mathieu are putting together careers worthy of consideration. I'm afraid non are locks to make it. Another Super Bowl will inch Mathieu closer.

Faulk was a terrific third-down back and special team player, not enough production for Hall of Fame consideration.
UL's Brian Mitchell was a great special teams player who reset league yardage/touchdown records, and decent offensive player and hasn't gotten close to Hall of Fame consideration.

This is what an off-season thread should look like.
Nice work, thanks for sharing.

Glad you posted this. In faneca thread I’m getting killed because I said whit isn’t a hall of famer. He’s a really good tackle but not one of the greats. Pat Pete is probably our only lock right now and I agree another super bowl with a great performance will really help TM7

You deserve to be killed. Whit will be inducted in first 3 attempts and only saying it takes that long because of who may also be in consideration. In 15 years, he’s had less than 100 penalties and 50 sacks. Anyone that decided to stay with the Bengals for a decade deserves to be canonized.

Exactly. No way Whitworth makes it past 3 years of voting without getting in. His numbers on sacks, penalties, run efficiency, etc are great. Had he played for a competitive team for most of his career, he may be a first ballot guy.

He went over 2 seasons without giving up a sack at one point of his career playing for the Bengals

I hope I’m wrong and big whit makes the HOF. He’s a great family man and a good guy personally.

Mathieu and Peterson seem like locks.
The rest of the active guys (besides Whitworth) need a solid 10-12 year stretch of great numbers to get in. Some are already on there way (Jarvis, Odell, Tre White, Hunter, Devin White) but need to keep producing and show longevity.
