My grandson was badly mauled by a “good” dog

I hear 100% where you are coming from. Many years ago, some good friends of our at the time had their toddler bitten in the face by a dog they were watching. The dog had no history, it just "snapped". The kid endured many surgries and has scars for life.

Here is the video for those that are interested. After watching it does it change your thoughts?

Lonnie, that dog looked like a bullet out of a gun going straight at yours. Like several others said, I would definitely escalate this with the authorities AND talk to that owner, but I would have a hard time with that dog in my neighborhood. I’m a dog lover, but I would have had 0 problem exterminating that dog right then and there.

Your friends had a toddler and watched someone else’s dog for them? That’s not a move I would make.

My neighbor has a dog that wants to fight everything on four legs. His old dog died and when he got this one it was already 4-5 years old and had already developed bad tendencies. Once he figure that out he just makes sure the dog is on a leash when it’s in the front yard. It’s really not a big deal. Again, because a lot of people apparently don’t understand this, dog aggression and human aggression aren’t related.
