Yes I think it’s time now that a vaccine has been out for a couple months for people to have the option if they want to wear one.

The vaccine isn’t readily available to the general public yet.

You (like myself) likely got it because of your occupation. If I didn’t work in a hospital the vaccine would not be available to me yet.

That’s true but here the one’s we’ve been worried about, the elderly, it is available. My in laws are mid 70s and have been fully vaccinated, they had to be on a waiting list but they just got their second shot yesterday.........so almost fully vaccinated technically. 65-69 has just been opened up to them for getting shots.

I had my second round last week. Only reason I got the damn thing is to stop wearing the damned mask. I can’t catch it that’s science so if I don’t want to wear a mask that’s my choice. If people don’t want the shots that’s their choice. But I’ll be damned if someone comes and tells me I have to wear a mask but I can’t tell them they have to get the shot. It’s senseless. Just go get the shot Jesus in the military I was lined up like cattle and had more shite pumped in me then the body should be able to take. I’m mid 40’s perfect health don’t even wear reading glasses. The conspiracy theories about the vaccine are about as retarded as people
Voting for Biden because they didn’t “like” trump. Ignorance.

Until a decent percentage of the population is vaccinated and can provide some herd immunity and drastically lessen community spread...mask mandates aren’t going anywhere.

Mask mandates aren't going anywhere even after the above happens.

I’m hopeful they will. But...it’s gonna still take a while to even get enough people vaccinated.

Now for those of us in the medical field? Yeah I think we will be wearing masks at work for a really long time.

They won't. Because it stopped being medical and became political a very, very long time ago. The people that are mask zealots now will continue to be mask zealots, and cities and municipalities will keep the mandates in place to keep the zealots from pestering them.

Mask wearing has become a religion.

My apologies, I’m a little on edge about this because of my friend. Honestly, I hate the mask and just tolerate it when necessary. But, yes every friend I have who works in a hospital has told me that the vaccine protects you but not others. Again, sorry for getting so fired up and going overboard. You’re not being a jerk at all.

I go to Home Depot almost daily, I happened to just totally forget to put a mask on recently and spent probably a good hour in the store, checked out, no one said shite or even looked strangely at me. I realized when I got back in the car I forgot to wear it.

I walked into Whole Foods (it’s less than 1/2 mile from our house so we swing in to get pasta, etc for quick dinners sometimes) and also totally forgot to put a mask on. I was there less than 2 mins and heard someone jogging and speaking into what sounded like a radio “Ok, ok, okay...I located him. Approaching...” and my dumb arse is hearing this and living in Memphis im thinking they got a fugitive they found or I’m about to watch some sort of police sting go down....

Nope. It was the Manager (I guess this is who this woman was) just about sprinting through the store and starting to scream about a mask. You would’ve seriously thought I was robbing the place. I didn’t say a word after almost everyone in the store was staring at that point and just walked the frick out. It was the most rediculous, over the top response that could’ve occurred.

One of our administrators has forced them to put up a policy where we have to wear a mask when going into the part of building she is in. She has the option to get vaccinated but refuses to. She has no family that even lives in our state, she's just simply terrified of the virus but won't get a vaccine. They've told her in April they are no longer requiring people to wear a mask in that area.

It's horrible how people will attack you, at least verbally or shame you for not wearing a mask. Calling people murderers and such for even having get togethers with family, just a bad situation. I'm not even pro or anti mask, it should be up to you. I understand a private business having the policy if they want, and I can respect that.

Most people have more than likely killed someone directly or indirectly spreading a virus, calling me a murderer for not wearing a mask is illogical, because "Covid is more deadly than flu or strep" That's like saying it's ok to kill someone with a knife because it's less deadly than a rifle, just stupid all around. I still wear one out in public at work, we have to, I may still need to run in certain stores that require it and I'll put it on. I don't care if someone wears a mask or doesn't, just hate seeing people get shamed in public, I've witnessed it several times. I no longer have FB but my coworkers talk all the time about people still videoing or taking pictures of folks with no mask on and posting it to FB, horrible.

ETA: Most of my argument is to the shamers, this needs to stop but it won't for a long time. You can wear a mask at home alone for all I care, I ain't judging.

If a grocery store has a mask policy, you either wear a mask or go somewhere else, regardless of how you feel about mask policies.

I mean what don’t people get about this... stay your arse home or go spend your money with a place not requiring mask... it’s basically the no-shirt/no-shoes policy

It's all good, it's just a message board Sorry to hear about your friend, my wife knows someone who's husband almost died and he is young. He did pull through and back at home but it was a tough fight.

I’m not getting in a mask argument on here

I wear them in public all the time and wear them correctly and wear ones that actually offer me some protection besides some cute patterned fabric. But I also exercise outside and don’t wear one while hiking or biking cause I can distance away from others (but keep one in my bag). I don’t wear one driving alone.

If I see someone not wearing one inside a store or not wearing it correctly....I just stay the frick away from them.

Because of my job, I understand I have a very different perspective on this than the general public.

I’ve only seen someone try to publicly shame someone without a mask once. Was in the grocery store and a guy didn’t have one on. No one really gave a shite. Finally this one lady rolls up to him and starts in on him not having one. He lets her do her rant, then calmly says “how about you mind your own fricking business?” Lady just sits there with her mouth open as dude continues to shop.

The look on her face was priceless

ETA: I say “with her mouth open” figuratively of course, since I know some smartass will say “how could you tell if she was wearing a mask???”

Not quite. "Why not just comply?"

Well, yes.

You don't have to wear a mask. But you do have to leave the PRIVATELY OWNED store if the owner tells you to.

When the police get there, you won't be arrested for refusing a mask, you'll be arrested for refusing to leave/being an arsehole/if you want, fighting a police officer.

Bingo... what pisses me off is people not wearing one insisting on talking to you within 6 feet... actually had to tell a customer to back the frick up... of course he took it as a insult... who cares
