Have you seen Bama and even A&M’s receiver rosters? Yeah, If BTJ expects early playing time as a freshman, these aren’t the 3 schools to be considering. A&M had the highest rated receiver in the ‘20 class and I don’t think he even saw the field. Out of the 3 schools mentioned, he probably has the best chance to play early at LSU, because of his height alone.

Be here when he signs. He is telling coaches he is coming. And that is right from new offensive staffs mouths.
Our coaching staff never seems to have a good grasp of what a given recruit is thinking. It’s always extreme optimism bordering on straight gullibility. That’s why our insiders seem to suck when they’re only relaying that optimism.

I pay attention to what the other team insiders are saying.

If he is good, he should not fear the competition. The kids who go to Bama aren’t worried about that. His friend Hilton isn’t worried. Why is he?

Oh your getting plenty of PT at bama, I bet ... Com'on man!! This was said to Brian ?? Naaaa I Highly Doubt that!

Think about it, Your a true freshman, If you prove yourself on the practice field You will get Notice ... No one at LSU wants to keep anyone off the field if he can help the Team!! Freshman or Not!

I think he probably ends up at lsu.

It's laughable to say he won't play.

Who is going to stop him besides boutte or the other freshmen he's coming in with?

Most logical scenarios have been stated here....except where the old man is building suspense for the kid’s announcement. No matter where he goes.

While i hate it, but too many of these kids are very good at playing social rumor mills/media for more and more attention.

Thomas has had offer for a long time
If he hasn’t pulled trigger for LSU at this point he obviously is not going to
Who knows maybe he has academic issues to hurdle
Maybe LSU has moved on and wants the kid from Newman in next years class

Nicolastiger - Agree with your analysis 100%. Many questions regarding BT's intent to become a Tiger. He may surprise us, but he could have joined the class long ago. I fear he will not be a Tiger.

I find this really hard to believe before the kid even steps foot on campus

Especially from a program that uses early playing time for underclassmen.

It is absurd to think anyone in a position of authority at LSU would tell a player that. The answer to any player's question on playing time is "the best players will play no matter the class. If you come in and show us you deserve playing time you'll get it." He may have been told "no guarantees" and that may be the problem.

Just an opinion....

True. The simple answer would be that we just had a true FR WR record one of the best games in history for a FR. If you're good enough you'll play.

Turner and Hawkins both played at LSU

Not aware of any player, in past 50 years, going to Bama (from Walker).

I doubt LSU worded exactly the way the OP stated, that is probably just the way the father worded it.

My source told me that Brian saw an easier path to the field at aTm and was leaning that way. Dad liked Bama, but Dad was not the decision maker. Mom likes LSU to keep her boy home and Brian has a lot of friends at LSU. At the time, Brian was still undecided.

Another source posted recently, that Mom said, they were letting Brian make his own decision. I believe that to be true.

Honestly, it doesn't matter. If he decides LSU, than great. If he doesn't, we will get another stud player at another position. LSU will never lack WR talent.

Honestly I think Jenkins and Kirklin are going to be on the field a lot. I also think Trey Palmer may have turned the corner late in the season.

Besides Boutte I'd say all WR spots are up for grabs. He's the only one that's really separated himself from the competition.
