The Rams-Lions trade will have nothing to do with a Watson trade if the Texans do it. They'll want 2 ones, 2 twos and 2 young defensive starters, at the least. Watson, 25, under contract, great QB, team leader, beloved by fans, pillar of the community. Start with the Jets.

Thought y’all might wanna know...

Considering Watson has demanded a trade, they won't get as much as they want. This is a ridiculous ask

Not worth it at all. Saints just need to sign a cheap FA or Winston, hopefully draft well this year, and manage their cap situation. Will probably lose a lot of key players like Jack Rabbit, Kwon, potentially Marcus Williams, etc. But can't fork all of that for just Watson. Too risky.

I’d gladly trade them 2 firsts, 2 thirds, marshon and Davenport.

Not ridiculous at all after seeing what Stafford just went for, and teams knowing he wouldn’t be back in Detroit

Not necessarily disagreeing with you, but how do you replace the really good past draft classes that are set to be paid in the next two years?

Trade Davenport....we are losing Hendrickson this year. Proabably.
Trade Lattimore...which corners are left on the team??

Detroit got more for Stafford because they had to take on Goffs terrible contract

And Houston doesnt have to trade Watson. He is signed long term

Houston obviously doesnt care about their rep based on these last few years. They can demand just about anything

This board severely underestimates the value of a true franchise QB. Stafford is a franchise QB at the end of his prime and he fetched two firsts and a borderline franchise QB. You literally cannot win championships in the NFL without a franchise guy.

I’d do that deal. He’s worth that price. You can rebound from those lost assets in 2 years at most but you’d have a top 5 QB who is also a genuinely good person off the field as the face of your franchise for a decade. Young generational QBs just don’t come on the open market. Maybe they take 2 1sts, 2 3rds and then do sign and trades with Marcus Williams and Sheldon Rankins.

Yes

And the Saints shite the bed with the bullshite that Taysom Hill would be our next franchise QB

Green Bay is criticized, but they have the exact correct approach.

They drafted Rogers when they had
Farve.

You should always be looking for your next QB. You can’t win in the NFL without one.

Bilichik wanted to trade Brady and was stopped by the owner

49ers traded Montana.

You don’t wait till your franchise QB is in a wheel chair to make a move.

And the Texans hold ALL of the leverage. Watson still has 3 years let on his deal. This is basically a signal to other teams that they will need to come with a HUGE offer to get Watson. Otherwise, he can retire or hold out for multiple years (which he won’t do)

Some of that cost was the lions taking on goff and that contract.

I think stafford alone would've been a 1st and a 4th or 5th
