Who has tried the high rye peerless? I saw they actually dropped prices a bit on the double oak releases, but they are charging a premium for the high rye.

First for me is my favorite bottle from last year. It was so good I had to get a backup. Glad I did because I whiffed on batch 2.

Interesting. I haven't seen that one before. What does it compare to?

Only one pour left of this one. Since giving up rye for lent, it's been my most frequent pour by a wide margin. Works great in cocktails, but enjoyable neat. This is the shelfer that I think best captures the Willett profile.

It’s was started by the guy who reopened Bruichladich Scotch. It’s not like most Irish cause most of,them are made by Middleton and rebranded. This drinks like a triple distilled scotch to a point. Very interesting notes from tropical fruits, citrus almost a waxy note I have found in Clynelish and some Bourbon Barrell aged Longmorn scotches. Which makes sense cause it’s all malted barely no grain.

Jim McEwan? I thought he came out of retirement to start Ardenhoe Islay distillery.

Mark Reynier, he was in the wine business and got the money together to reopen Bruichladdich and hired Jim to ben aster Distiller. You should watch Water of Life on YT it’s free with ads. It’s a documentary about how, they resurrected Brucihladdich.

I had tried a handful of others previously, but Redbreast is what really sold me on Irish. It sucks to see the steep price increases, but figured it was only a matter of time.

I decided to stick with Willett this evening.

Happy Friday baw. The roller coaster I've been on at work the last 2 weeks has been one for the books. Ended on a high note today and received my new Sinn 556A RS.

FPD after a couple margs
