how good are the chances that Washington backs out next year? I would think since we go there, almost none. I am planning a trip with my dad next year for the game.

Why would a Pac-10 team, eager to prove that the SEC is not that good, back out of a home game against LSU?

i'd be more willing to bet they back out of the return trip

if it was at LSU, some chance they would back out, but a home game, no way.

No chance ... I'm ready to book the flight in September when those flights open up.
Tigah fans take over Seattle ... it'll be like a bowl trip to open the year, can't wait!

I do think they'll back out of the game in BR, but not the away game next year.

well, schedules are "subject to change" and my slight worry is that with Ty Willingham having four consecutive losing seasons at UW, that if 2008 makes it five, then he might want to dump-off a highly likely home loss to LSU from the 2009 schedule.
and, unfortunately, 2008 looks rough for the Huskies:
8-30-08 at Oregon
9-6-08 BYU
9-13-08 OKLAHOMA
9-27-08 STANFORD
10-4-08 at Arizona
10-18-08 OREGON ST.
10-25-08 NOTRE DAME
11-1-08 at Southern Cal
11-8-08 ARIZONA STATE
11-15-08 UCLA
11-22-08 at Washington St.
12-6-08 at Cal
decent chance for them to lose seven
of coures if its a new coach, who knows??

Why would they back out of a home game, especially when Washington has shown they are willing to play ridiculously hard schedules?

New coach next year then they definitely bail. No one wants to start like that.

I live in Tacoma Wa. I'll be there watching the Tigers
that arse. UW and the rest of the weak 10 suck.

I didn't know you could book a year in advance. I will have to look into that.

Here's a funny scenario...it was mentioned a few weeks ago that the whispers around Seattle is that Mark Emmert has been talking of trying to get Nick Saban out to UW if Willingham is fired. How interesting would it be for LSU to play out there if this happened?

I'll bet you $1000 that they don't.

I'm actually one of the conspiracy theorists that think there is a solid chance (20-40%) that this will actually happen.
1. Saban and Emmert are best buds
2. Washington is a perfect for school for Saban to retire at ... West Coast, great tradition, yet fans have realistic expectations. It's a perfect school for Saban ... a place that needs to be rebuilt but a place where 9-3 every year is perfectly acceptable.
3. Ty will be fired after this year, and Bama will probably have another 7-6 season that begins to put A LOT of pressure on Saban in Bama and possibly makes it a very unhappy place for Saban (much like Miami).
Granted, if Washington goes bowling and/or Bama has a successful season, I doubt anything happens, but it's certainly something to watch for as the season progresses.
Man would that be fun next year for LSU to travel to Seattle to take on the former dictator.

Their expectations are not that different from LSU fans. In fact, over the past 30 years, the two schools have similar records. Washington has 16 seasons with 8 or more wins, LSU has 18.
8 win seasons: Wash. 5 LSU 7
9 " " : " 3 " 4
10 " " : " 5 " 3
11 " " : " 2 " 2
12 " " : " 1 " 1
13 " " : " 0 " 1
Conference Championships: Washington 6, LSU 4
National Championships: Washington 1, LSU 2
Yes, you all have had more success recently. But I guarantee you Washington fans are clamoring to get back to the days when Don James was winning a Pac-10 championship every 3 years or so and finishing as a top-10 ranked team half of the time.

No way is Willingham still the coach next year. I don't even think a low-tier bowl bid will save his arse. He needs like a Rose Bowl to not get run out of town on a rail.

"Past 30 years". Man, you're into current events, aren't you?
