Is it true that taxes were going up this year under Trumps tax plan?

I keep seeing leftists posting this. I’m sure it’s a deflection because everyone knows Biden is raising taxes(besides getting rid of Trump’s tax cut).

Last I can recall Trump was trying to get more tax CUTS in... But Nancy wasn't having any of that noise.

Without looking up I believe the plan expired in 2025 so that is when they would rise. I could be wrong.

If they are referring to the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, then they are lying. There is no provision in Trump's signature tax reform that would increase taxes this year.

Trump did eliminate SALT deductions, so states with high state taxes can't deduct from their federal taxes.

Some provisions expire in 2021. Coincidentally the amendments that put these expirations in the bill came from Dmocrats, who then voted against the bill because provisions benefitting the middle class were sunset.

Isn't that because it would take 60 votes to make the cuts permanent and no democrats voted for it?

I'm all for tax cuts, but how do they affect America?
