Georgia SB202 Signed into law 3-25
Posted on 1/27/21 at 6:55 pm
Posted on 1/27/21 at 6:55 pm
Updated 3-25
Bills have been combined and mainly two voting bills remain. SB202 passed out of House committee and could hit the floor later this week. HB531 is still in Senate committee with changes being made. The two omnibus bills will then need to be combined in some fashion. The ban on no-excuse absentee ballots is dead in the water apparently. All they can do now is tighten up the leaks in the ship.

THIS is the shite I’ve been talking about
More of this and less bitching about election fraud. Set it up so only those invested in the process will be casting votes. The only way to stop the democrats golden goose to reform voting laws in multiple states.

They are focused on the wrong things and will get it wrong unless the people speak up.
They have to get rid of what they put in place.
They have to get rid of what they put in place.

They have tried here plenty of times. The courts haven't been a friend and the settlement by SOS didn't help either.
It is hard to argue voter suppression when over 97% of the eligible voters are registered in GA..but they still do.
Voter ID laws should be equally responsive with in person and absentee. Period.
That said, absentee should go away other than those not able to get to the polls. With two weeks to vote and voter sites near everyone in a metro environment, suppression is a fail argument.

Correct but they know they will have an almost impossible time getting rid of it now. They opened the door. The best they MIGHT can do is tighten the absentee ID laws which are in effect in numerous states.
Signature verification is horse shite.
HOWEVER...be watchful of them trying to say typing in a voter ID number or Drivers license number IS verifying ID. This would actually be a backwards step and make it even easier to cheat.

Funny you think laws will make a difference. Just like the election laws that were ignored in 2020
Posted on 1/27/21 at 8:22 pm to RealDawg
The left won’t let any of this pass unless it some how weakens voting

Most of what was done represented the legal manipulation of a broken voting system. BY and large laws weren't ignored, they were exploited.

Elias knew what he was doing when he changed those requirements. Shady as hell.
Reform needs to happen across all the states.
Reform needs to happen across all the states.

Couldn't agree more and I live here. All the ID in the world on absentees wont matter if they don't get rid of the machines that are rigged. Most of the votes are done on the Dominion machines. Whoever controls those controls the outcome of any election.
We're fricked in this state and there isn't shite we can do about outside of armed rebellion. It's impossible to vote anyone out of office.

Some updates on voting Bills
This is where the main battle has been won and lost. This is the only way rural Georgia can keep the State.
Good Guys
ID Required for Absentee
Bad Guys
Open AND scan absentee ballots early
Permanent Absentee Voter List
Must watch..no full language yet but will create a PERMANENT vote by mail list. Currently you have to apply each election.

Open and Scan Early
Permanent Absentee Opt in
Both of these are big deals for different reasons.
If the norm becomes opening and scanning early then you will have to have monitors in place for weeks to stay on top of this. Currently, you can do this you just have to post publicly, it hasn't been the norm. You could verify but not open and scan the ballot.
As for the perm opt in-Currently you have to apply absentee each election unless you are military or elderly or a few other cases. This would mean you can continue to cheat without having to update applications each election.

They aren't even playing. They are gonna play the voter suppression card until they die and own it all.
Best Republican Strategy:
Make voting a flex holiday and all voters get a day off (unpaid) guaranteed if requested.
Fight for Voter ID
Keep reminding all the programs that require ID already (everybody has an ID).
Remind everybody that Georgia now has 97% of all eligible voters able to vote. No suppression.
Keep noting that you can vote weekends and extended hours for two weeks prior to election.
Remind all how close voting locations are to the average voter.

Updated initial thread.
You can see based on the bills the dems are getting greedy and continuing to work every angle. "Supression"
