I’m assuming they are going with the old orange man bad routine - he incited the “insurrection” with baseless claims of a stolen election

Do they really want to open up this can of worms? Potentially giving an opportunity for Trump to show it was stolen? They have a minimum of 4 years to fortify the cheat machine and make themselves invincible.. why take a gamble on something petty like this?

Unless this is just a show trial and Trump doesn’t get a chance to mount a defense. In that case why show up? just play golf at Mar-A-Lago.

I’m not sure how unconstitutional impeachment proceedings are supposed to work

You think they're going to give Trump a chance to rebut?

This is a kangaroo court

With Leahy or any dem senator presiding? No. They will just say anything they don't want brought out is not admissible. Part of me thinks Trump should not even send lawyers.

The evidence isn’t going to change anyone’s mind. Take the vote, get everyone on record, and let the chips fall where they may.

They will give themselves 3 weeks to insult the prez, and give him 15 minutes to defend himself.
The Chief Justice of the SCOTUS will not be there. The Constitution says he MUST be there. The Senate can not have an n-peachmint trial without him.
