I can’t be the only one who thinks this?

From what I understand it’s not good because it will kill small business because they can’t afford to pay for that kind of labor and benefits. It will make larger companies take full time employees and take hours away from them right? I also understand it to be that min wage jobs were not meant to be a life long career and not mean to support a family on.

Just wondering cuz some bitch on FB wrote this to me when I basically said what I said in response to 15 bucks an hour being dumb:
quote:

This has literally been proven wrong but go off sis. Also, if your ramblings were factual, I still rather pay 15 for a Big Mac or go without, then have someone live with a poverty wage.

The go off sis pissed me the frick off.

It's easy to say this hypothetically, lets see them actually do it in reality

I was talking to a friend who decided to pay $2k less on an SUV that didn't have four wheel drive, his words: "If I need 4 wheel drive I'll just rent a car with 4 wheel drive and save the $2000". Easy to say that, until you actually have to do it.

how do you get stuck at a job only paying 8 bucks an hour for your whole life? Literally just be a good worker and you get raises and promotions. shite even McDonald’s has a manager training program for good workers. And why would you try to have a family and think you can raise them on that?

I just hired an assistant. If they go to $15/hour I will have to let her go. So it’s bad.

Wonder how they will feel when they are laid off or terminated due to inability of businesses to pay 15$ an hour?

"Go off sis" will get less raises at her job until the employer can recoup the cost of minimum wage, lol. She'll also get more workload since if the employer can manage to grow the business, he still won't hire as many new people.

Idk I would say if a small business can’t afford to pay their folks 15/hr they probably shouldn’t be in business. This mostly effects large companies bottom line IMO. Which is why it is so politicized.

how about we let one state try it out and see how it works

if everything is great then the rest of the states can do it

if it sucks then we have limited the damage

Why? What's magical about $15/hour that makes a business worthy or not worthy?

Why not $100/hour? If a business can only pay $15 and can't afford $100, they shouldn't be in business, right?

What about $1,000/hour?

But bigger companies can just get technology (robots) to do jobs.

You don’t think little businesses should open unless they can pay $15 bucks? They will never be able to make it big if they are forced to pay some college or high schooler that much for folding or hanging clothes at their little boutique. The skills aren’t worth 15 bucks just like flipping burgers isn’t worth 15 bucks an hour.

On the eastern Atlantic seaboard, this is 100% correct. Most of these people are left of center.

On the gulf coast, this is catastrophic to small business. Most of these people are right of center.

They are playing to the business owners in their base, and damaging those not in their base. Same as it always was, folks...

The people in these jobs long term are the drunks, the stoners, and the people who cannot consistently show up.

1. That dumb lady couldn’t afford a 15 McD
2. They don’t live in the real world
3. Their rent (bc we both know they don’t own property) will skyrocket.....then they’ll bitch that their rent is too high
