What's the general lockdown status across the globe?

Is America on par with what Europe or Asia are doing? I'm not saying we should follow their lead or anything but I'm curious because I haven't heard about what foreign countries are doing in quite some time. Is China even shut down at all? I think it's obvious many of the US's lockdowns are politically motivated or are at least playing to their political base but that would be more obvious if other nations really aren't following suit.

From what I've read, most of Europe has much more stringent covid rules that we do here in the states... yet they experience one new outbreak after another.
It wasn't that long ago that they essentially cancelled (or at least tried to cancel) Christmas in London.

Europe has had very strict lockdowns and continue to have them. Their lockdowns are way more stringent than any in the US. Problem is, many people are not following the lockdown requirements. The Dutch are having some big riots in Amsterdam and other towns against lockdowns. China locked down everything early and continues to forcibly quarantine anyone who tests positive and they are testing millions per day and contact tracing. Being an authoritarian state is an advantage in a pandemic. We have it easy lockdown wise in most of the US.

You'd think if those advantages mattered they would not still be having cases this late into the game...

The only one I'm somewhat familiar with is Italy because I follow a woman on IG who lives in Rome. They've had 3 complete stay at home lockdowns, but the 2nd two were shorter and slightly less strict than the first one we all went through.
Australia and New Zealand are basically open because they aren't letting anyone into the country for the most part. You'd think this is amazing, and it is, but there are thousands of Australian natives who have not been able to return home for a year.
Many of them have obviously lost their jobs and are living in a foreign country with an expired visa and are homeless. Its pretty fricked what their country is doing to them, if you read into it.

China, Wuhan specifically, is open for business. Did you miss the big NY party they threw there?
US leaders are not done yet playing politics with Covid, nor or the Euros.
At some point you have to realize it is about something else, as this virus has a 99.8 survival rate.

Or that lockdowns don’t work
We now have ten months of data to support that

Which = lockdowns don’t work.
If you create a ridiculous plan that is not followed or enforceable then the problem is with the plan.
