Go to The Ground Patty in Lafayette and see if your memory is true.

There was a joint, Peperoni's Pizza on Starring, that was local. They had cold beer pitchers and decent food.

Was coming post Pepperoni's on Perkins by Village St George. We'd ride our bikes up there to get that $.99 personal pan pizza. Was a damned good deal, even when they bumped it up to $1.49

In High school, me John and Travis would go up there the night before cross country meets and tear up the buffet , loading up on spaghetti and pizza. Carb Loading!!! For a 3 mile race...

Friend,

In Baton Rouge’s long history it has had exactly one great restaurant, Chalet Brandt. It was, for a time, the best restaurant in the South, as Uncle explained it to me. I had a couple of meals there and it was as good as any in New Orleans, even Crozier’s.

Yours,

Was Chelsea's a deli/sandwich shop near campus, maybe in a Winn Dixie shopping center?

Was coming to post this.

Chalet Brandt
The Original Village (the new one isn't bad, just the old location and all was a BR tradition).

for years my dad would eat here about 3 to 4 times a week (his office at the time was very close)....about 20 years ago he had an experience at that location that he says was the "most disturbing experience" he has ever had at a restaurant....he has never shared with me what happened that day, and still wont.

I don't remember anyone 6'9 there. There was a tall strawberry blond waiter dude. Toby I think his name was. He drove a very nice old Mustang.
I was there for a year from right when it opened in 93 to Fall 94.

Went there for Senior Prom Supper in 1993.
Family still has a restaurant in Walker. I just found out about this and hear the food is very good.
