There are probably a dozen reality shows airing today on VH1 and Bravo that are all 100x worse than Kid Nation.

Utopia was pretty terrible... intended to last a year and air twice a week, it didn't even make it two months.

Kid Nation was incredible. I had some great memes from back then and the threads on here were pretty fun. I got way into it.
IIRC, I was all about Taylor and how psychotic she was.
And the Pick-Up Artist was also incredible. Not sure what that dude above is thinking...

The red haired girl in Kid Nation was also in at least one episode of Ruff Ruffman. Her twin (?) brother was a contestant on Ruff Ruffman and in one episode, they showed the boy at home. His sister from Kid Nation was hanging around being a pest.

I second this! I remember watching KN on CBS back when I was in 7th grade. Every episode a kid would win a gold star worth 10k for being a team player. If it was 10k in 2007, imagine what it’s worth today? Last year, I rewatched the series on YouTube and had some good laughs. You can go down a rabbit hole on YouTube learning about what each contestant is doing all grown up.
They should have made season 2, but I heard that one kid drank bleach or something like that. Their parents got involved and ruined it for a chance to get a new season.

It’s because they had the reality circuit plants that completely wrecked the believability of the show.
