re: Baseball HOF voters ask to amend ballots after Curt Schilling supports Capitol "riot"

Sportswriters have ALWAYS been a collection of pompous dweebs and losers (go hang out in a press box at ball game one night...how any of those guys get laid is amazing) who LOVE the fact they have the power to be the "gatekeepers" over the athletes they (silently) jealously cover to get into the HOF. Baseball writers just happen to be the most pompous out of a sense of "tradition" stemming from the fact baseball is the oldest of the major sports in the US. It use to be they just held ridiculous, sanctimonious grudges over things players did related to baseball (see the ongoing steroid issue). But now, in this era of "journalism" they've combined their pompous, virtue signaling, political beliefs with their judgment of players.
If Schilling was a good enough PLAYER to be in the HOF, then put him in the HOF and don't penalize him because his political beliefs are different from yours. My God! Ty Cobb was in the very first HOF class and he was by all accounts a terrible person on and off the field. Gaylord Perry was a WELL known cheater. He was also a big supporter of Jesse Helms. He's in the HOF.
Get off your fricking high horse you losers and vote/don't vote for guys STRICTLY on what they accomplished in MLB. It's not a HOF of "good guys" or guys who have the "correct" political beliefs. It's for guys who were great baseball players...PERIOD!

Schilling is an interesting character. Advanced Squad Leader, which is an ultra-detailed simulation of WWII squad-level combat that is probably the most complex board game ever made, continues to exist because he loves it and helped buy the rights to continue producing it back in the mid-90's when Avalon Hill, the company that originally produced it, went under.

Damn if he’d supported burning down cities and killing innocent people he’d be in.

as in if there was only one rule in the history of the game to NOT break, this one was it.
and he knew it before he broke it.

he has always been really big on raising money and awareness for ALS (Lou Gehrig disease)
and he wore #38 for the vast majority of his career.

The Baseball HOF voters are a lot different than in the past.
A lot of cyber nerds, who are super liberal snow flakes in charge and have a say.

Accusing someone who doesn't believe in the socialist dogma of mental instability? Very Stalinistic of you. I'm not surprised in the least.

Was he incorrect. No. Now voting for the hall is based on political correctness. America is clown town.
