IMO, starting a new party is like starting a new league to challenge the NFL

Actually, it is probably more difficult because you have to come up with some agreed upon platform and course of action among millions of people.
For that reason, I think the better course of action is to change the GOP from within.
Of course that has its problems as well, but it seems more feasible.

Literally impossible.

Uh, we just tried that with TRUMP remember? It didn't work.
We need to just quit the GOP the same way we quit the NFL.

The definition of insanity is to try the same thing over and over expecting different results.
We just tried to change the GOP from within. Remember President Trump?

When we are all through our stages of grief. I think we should combine forces, republicans and independents, to fix our elections. Without voter reform, we are all dead in the water.

All of that “new party” talk is from the board Libertarians. They actually like having the Democrats in charge so they can get their open borders and China first trade deals.

A new party without legitimate election reform is worthless

No it's not. When most of the people in the current political league want a news one.

Good thing Trump did so well at that . . .

Maybe - but this is THE conversation we have to have.
Does an alternative party stand a better or worse chance?
If we split the vote a d seats, doesnt that guarantee Democratic rule?

As COVID killed the XFL, it also killed Trump

Before we worry about which party to support, we need to do something about our shitty defeatist attitude. The Right seems to be competing with the French now for top surrender monkey status. No wonder the Left has run unabated over the country for 12 solid months.

You have to also appeal to moderate dems who feel the radical left is freaking stupid.

Better because there is a 0% chance of reforming the GOP simply by working within the GOP

The Democrats and Republicans in DC are the same people and have been for sure since around 1989 but probably longer than that. They’re already winning unopposed. Pretending that splitting the Republican Party would jeopardize that is nuts.
Just today a group of Republican congressman came out and said we have to vote Republican to keep Biden from going crazy with the budget and fiscal decisions. All of them have voted damn near unanimously to pass every budget and increase since they’ve been in office. Why trust the GOP much less believe they’re keeping the Dems from doing anything?
Further, an economic and fiscally Conservative party that wants progressive social issues left off the federal government docket might take votes from Dems too.

Not when you got a mother fricker in charge that can walk and take 75 million voters with him. The Republican Party is dead.
If someone announced tomorrow that they were starting a new football league but half of the NFL team were coming with him it would be no problem.

Fun fact: There was once a new league to challenge the NFL. It was probably doomed no matter what, but then Trump got involved it was fait accompli. Pretty much immediately, he destroyed the whole thing...
