I was at the Illinois game in 88 when they came to the PMAC and hung 127 on us. I guess going by that guys logic giving up all those points meant the Georgetown and UNLV wins didn’t count and Dale Browns career didn’t measure up to Brady’s? There’s no excuse for the way we played on Tuesday but it sure as hell doesn’t mean all of the sudden Wade sucks or can’t coach. For such an easy sport to understand we sure do have a lot of ignorant basketball fans.

How many times have we one in football on athleticism alone in spite of per say Miles. It all starts on the recruiting trail Brother.

The point is not to say the offense is bad but that it struggles ( 37.8 % FG, 5-26 3pt ) running the one on one offense they run and teams athletically match up well. Most of their shots were contested because of that and because they primarily score in one on one situations. LSU beats most teams to the rim and that opens up 3’s also, but when they struggle, it’s when teams play really good zone against them, athletically match up well or both. If there were some half court sets to get some open looks, they could possibly shoot better and at least if their defense can’t shut down the other team you can exchange baskets and stay close to maybe win at the end. It would be best if their defense would be better and just hold teams down most every game. But it doesn’t hurt to strive to be better in every facet of the game as you progress through the season. That’s what championship teams do.

Just because we’re not running Stone Age offenses like flex or motion doesn’t mean we’re not running offense. We don’t run whatever a “one on one offense” is, we run set after set after set all game long. You don’t score at the volume we do with the efficiency we do by playing what you’re describing as backyard ball. We run ball screens, pick and rolls from different points, pen downs for shooters, double pen downs, single and double pen downs into pick and pops, post ups, pinch post touches, pressure release catches at the elbow and on and on. You’re also wrong about how we perform vs zone, South Carolina tried it against us and we shot 3-4 straight layups by breaking it down through the middle and getting a high low entry right to the rim. We dug ourselves a hole vs Bama because on top of terrible defense Wade never called timeout or threw a change up at them early to disrupt the run and on offense we panicked, tried to get it all back at once and turned it over until the game got out of reach. I’m not sure you understand what you’re watching if you think we’re an iso or “one on one” team offensively.

Good one. Defend him if u want. Dude can't coach
You didn't list the folks who "can coach".
We need to compare records and outcomes when their teams competed.

No, johnny was a recruiter. Will is a good you g coach who is still learning. I feel like alot of yall want a young coach but dont want the growing pains that come with it in a sport where we arent a top 10 program most years. He is learning, we are a tournament team every year now. Give him a couple years to re-tool and make us elite.

A lot of our fans think that Wade started with the basketball team at the same level as football or baseball to begin with. I don’t think they appreciate how big a jump we’ve made so fast and maybe it’s because it happened so fast that people forgot about where we were when he arrived.
Posted on 1/21/21 at 7:47 pm to Madking
Yeah and its alot harder to make that jump from good to great, alot slimmer margins

Without question

I don't think wade is a great coach.
His staff isn't the best either

Plateau? How many SEC Basketball Championships total has LSU won?
Who were the coaches and how many years before their first championship?

So we’re just lucky to have such a good offense every year?
Posted on 1/21/21 at 8:33 pm to luciouslou
Solid melt. I’m guessing you want johnny jones back?

He needs to find his Tex Winter

A great recruiter is most of the battle. Hire a bench coach to handle the X-Os.
