Good points. I’m actually in the process of rewatching the mandalorian now so I can see what tie ins a missed. I didn’t catch that the first time around because I had not seen the animated series or ep 2 and 3 yet.

A.) Didn't want to introduce Sabine because they were already bringing in Ahsoka, Luke, Boba Fett and Bo-Katan and were already approaching overload.
B.) Had not found someone who looked and acted the part yet
C.) Just wanted to leave her introduction for the Ahsoka series
I'd go with option A and that they wanted to save some big character returns for season 3. With the way season 2 left off, I think season 3 is going to be Bo Katan recruiting Din to help her retake Mandalore. Sabine returning would fit right into that storyline, possibly with Ezra too if it turns out she found him.

Not all Jedi died in Order 66. There were 10,000+ Jedi living at the time of Order 66 according to Rebels
There were a couple of hundred Jedi Knights tops and a bunch of padawan learners.

You can take that up with those who made Rebels, because 10,000 is the number they used for living Jedi at the time of Order 66.

The comics show him fighting numerous Jedi masters without help from the clones and slaughtering them all with ease
Which one ps and what volumes? Sounds like something I wanna read.

I must say, TCW and Rebels were fantastic,
Clone Wars and Rebels are so good that if you binge watch it, it's like you forget Earth exists and you're watching a historical action adventure drama of the Jedi, the Sith, the republic and the empire and who's who in all of those.
Also, the quality of animation in season 7 of TCW is absolutely incredible and I was floored with how realistic, crisp and sharp it was.

Ahsoka Tano is perhaps one of the best characters ever introduced. Not only is she a badass, but she provides Anikan with much needed balance to his character.
Right now, she's as powerful if not more powerful than Count Dooku. She crushed the inquisitors when they came after her. They looked like clowns compared to her.
And she is so powerful that Darth Vader had to work really hard to defeat her at Malachor. Likely the toughest fight he's had since Obi-Wan on Mustafar.

I just hope I get to work on the upcoming Ahsoka show. Easily my favorite character since the OT.

Where Ep 2 and 3 fail miserably, is that Anikan is not likable at all. He's a arrogant douche from the beginning. He's a know it all dickhead, and for the life of me I can't understand how Kenobi ignored those traits and continued to train him.
He was poorly written and awfully portrayed. Very one dimensional--the kind of one dimensional they warn you about in film school.

This is all true. We also know Luke is out there wrecking shop too, because they both appeared in the mandalorian story arc. So that is two of the most powerful Jedi in existence with Ezra out there somewhere and Mace Windu’s fate also unknown.

Poorly written is an understatement. Luke already established there was good in Vader in RoTJ. Once he dies, he’s smiling with Yoda and Ben. Why have him slaughter children twice during episode 3? It kind of ruined his redemption honestly because murdering a couple dozen children isn't really an action worthy of redemption.
Edit: The more I think about the prequels the more I hate them. The real greatness of TCW and Rebels is how well they managed to undo all the damage they prequels did.

When does clone wars get good? I’m nearly 20 episodes in, and find it an absolute slog.

I sort of agree. I get that they were trying to show that he had turned to the dark side, but I think it would have probably been best to show him fighting other Jedi Knights/Masters rather than killing the younglings. The younglings would have been something for the clones. I think that perhaps showing him killing the younglings almost made it look like he had turned fully to the dark side too quickly. Then again, the killing of the younglings is sort of how Obi-Wan actually made Padme believe that Anakin had turned to the dark side, so it worked in that context.

I would have rather seen Anakin come to arrest a jedi involved in the plot against Palpatine. Then, have said jedi order the younglings to attack Anakin, and that be why he killed them all. That would make the use of the footage of him slaughtering younglings to turn Padme against him that much more tragic.

The first season is slow. A lot of the episodes are stand alone so you can probably skip some of them

I always found it hard to believe he would go from regretting killing Mace to slaughtering defenseless children in a few hours. I do like the way they portrayed Anakin in the animated series but it’s hard to believe that Anakin would go so quickly to killing those kids too.

I think if they’d stuck with what Ben had said in Ep 4 about him hunting down and killing the Jedi’s the story would have been fine. Instead he not only killed the younglings, he killed the Sandpeople’s women and children as well... its very disappointing because Anakin/Vader’s redemption had been known since the early 80’s. I just can’t believe that during the making of Ep 3 no one stopped to think that maybe killing women and children was a terrible thing to saddle Anakin with. If you’d never seen any Star Wars movies before and just watched them 1-6 you’d find the ending of RotJ to be absolutely absurd. There is kid killer yucking it up in the force afterlife with old Ben and Yoda. Good times!

Should I watch clone wars prior to rebels?
Posted on 1/19/21 at 2:00 pm to Fusaichi Pegasus
Yes because Clone Wars leads into Rebels. Both the Clone Wars and Rebels are weaved in and around episodes 2 and 3

Clone wars gets really good around season 3 and it gets more amazing all the way to season 7.
Yoda's arc in learning how to be a force ghost and discovering Dagobah was amazing and is my favorite arc of everything outside of season 7.
Slog through it. It will be worth it if you want to understand why Ahsoka's character development is one of the best things about Star Wars.

On season 3, episode 15-17 mini-arc with the Force Wielders.
Now this shite helps put Anakins fall into better perspective. He got a glimpse of his fall.
