Jack Ruby left his dachshund Sheba in the car when he shot Lee Harvey Oswald at Dallas Police headquarters on 11/24/63. His attorneys argued that Ruby would never abandon his dog to try to prove the shooting was not premeditated.

That's a Bell P39 Airacobra. The US considered it obsolete by the start of the war and it saw only limited action in the American inventory. They shipped most of them to Russia, who learned to love them because they were rugged, easy to maintain, and had a big arse 37mm cannon firing right through the propeller hub.
