Peetz is offering a challenge to LSU’s QB’s, allowing every QB to play to their strengths, which is basically highlighting their strengths to see which talent is best to lead the offense. He won’t be forcing a square peg in a round hole. Why would any LSU QB want to transfer before spring football and walk away from such a challenge that shows off your skills? What are you afraid of?

Always go with the better runner. A stronger arm is the most overrated aspect of good QB play.

Max is gonna be great. But Myles looked pretty frickin good his few games this season and is a vet at this point. I just feel like he’d have to have a really slow recovery to not win the job

What's funny is the rant has TJ Finley already in the transfer portal, but coach Peetz sounded impressed with his skill set most of all the QB's.

I do like what I'm hearing from Peetz about adjusting to the strengths/players on the field. Many say that, but they can't resist the urge to fall back on what worked before and then get stuck in a rut.

There has to be a balance though. You do have to develop players to run the scheme. But after that you tweak it the scheme to maximize it with the strengths.

What I'm hearing is that the scheme is those tweaks. It's not an afterthought like many coaches. And that sounds great to me.

I
100% agree, but I wonder if the scheme has to be tweaked, will the rantards be bitching that they aren't running "Brady's" Offense? ?????

Myles seemed to see the entire field better, but Max played well with less weapons and seemed to have more natural pocket awareness.

considering how many here freaked out in 2019 when we used [gun] bunch formation, calling it max protect, I'm going to venture a guess of: Yes.

You can say max is the guy because he won the two games to end the year or for some other reason,I'll disagree, but that's somewhat fair.

But max is NOT more talented then myles, that's not an opinion that's a fact. When you watch them throw its night and day who's more talented. Quicker release ,better arm ,better deep ball accuracy. Some of yall dont understand that Myles has a way above average arm in the nfl

The best situation for LSU is for Myles to start, do well, and go pro.

Spaces out the QBs.

The best QB should start, but it would best for LSU if this is how it worked out.

Myles was leading the country in td passes after his 3rd game, that's with a bunch of guys playing more then him. He was 11-3 on td to int ratio. He was 8th in the country with 1112 yards after 3 games completing 60 percent of his passes .

Myles Threw for 430 and 4 against mizzou who never gave that much up in any other game. Threw for 337 and 335 in the other two games. That's with him hitting all the throws and recievers to every part of the field.

With max, if there was not such thing as a deep dig route ,him and tj wouldnt even be in the discussion. Myles is too talented to bench for max. He can shred you all over the field and spreads the ball around.

Max had 150 attempts on the season and brennan had 131 . So that's pretty close

Max with 150 passing attempts
58% completions
1069 yards
8 tds 1 int
54 Carrie's 114 yards

Myles with 131 passing attempts
60.5 percent completions
1112 yards passing
11 tds 3 ints
17carries for -36 yards. Sacks take away from rushing.

While I pretty much agree with everything you just said, a lot of those 114 rushing yards Max had were in crucial situations extending drives by converting 3rd downs and avoiding sacks. That’s something Myles doesn’t offer, he’s basically a statue back there with no threat of running on a zone read which is something Peetz loves to do according to coaches that have coached with him at previous places. This is why I think Max has the leg up and would be the preferred choice but he’s still got to go compete and earn it on the practice field this offseason

I don’t like Myles’ behavior in the pocket at all. I love everything else about him. His arm, perseverance, experience etc.

I hope if he wins the job, that part of his game improves.
