9 days to visit G Teton NP, Yellowstone, and Glacier

These are my favorite threads.

I suggest three nights in GTNP followed by a drive-thru Yellowstone en route to Glacier.

I looked at whitefish for gnp. We found one place we really liked in Columbia falls called meadow lake resort. Was thinking of pulling the trigger on it. 3star for 156/night. 20 min drive to park.

Was considering gardiner or west yellowstone for Yellowstone NP.

Would like jackson hole or teton valley for GTNP but a motel 6 is like 300 a night there.

Yeah its kinda tricky looking around GTNP. vrbo is giving me options in Driggs and Victor idaho but I think that may be a little too far of a drive. Maybe not ?

Whats west yellowstone like? I was under the assumption that it and gardiner were close to the same distance away.

I really hate to hear that about Going to the sun road. I was really looking forward to that.

West Yellowstone is midway the park (north-south) and is generally closer to more of the sites in the park. It's not much of the town, but it's been a while since I've stayed there.

Yeah, the Going-to-the Sun road generally doesn't get completely plowed until late June or early July, but that will depend on snowfall this winter.

I always stay in St. Mary's when visiting Glacier. There's a nice KOA there that is pretty easy to book and has just amazing views. Not sure how that side of the park will be with COVID, I know last summer the East entrance was closed.

If the east side is closed, Whitefish and Columbia Falls are both just gorgeous.

Make sure to try to hike the Highline Trail to the Grinnell Glacier Overlook. It's not *too* long of a trail, and the views are just stunning. Those are some of the best views in any national park.

We usually stay in West Yellowstone when visiting Yellowstone. Cool little area. Lamar Valley is a must do! So many animals.

Teton is awesome. Like others have said you'll probably need to stay in Jackson. Cascade Canyon is a great hike.

Good luck going cheap on these areas if you're staying in a hotel. They are usually in very high demand. You could definitely camp in the area for free but sounds like yall don't want to camp. Airbnbs will probably be much cheaper than hotels, especially if you book months in advance.

Thanks so much. Yeah im all for tent camping but Mrs jkyle is a diff story I think im pretty settled on places for columbia falls (meadow lake resort 156/nt) and west yellowstone (city center motel 160/nt)

Still looking for something reasonable in the jackson hole area for the start of the trip and a one way rental car that's not 1,000 bucks

I'm seeing a lot of rooms for $75 a night about 40 minutes away from Jackson on Airbnb. If you're on a budget, it's definitely worth considering!

Thanks. I found one called alpine lodge in jackson hole that was 153 a night and pretty highly reviewed on Google/priceline. I think im gonna give it a shot.

I looked at several on vrbo/airbnb and once I find one that has a decent price it almost always doubles by checkout with their fees. One had a cleaning fee of 200 bucks

We're flying to Jackson Hole at the end of May. Staying at a downtown Jackson hotel & then at Old Faithful Inn in Yellowstone.

Try Headwater Lodge n or GTNP. Try to drive less. Everything near Jackson and the Park prices are on steroids.
