Not really when you look at the list of past recipients. Bear Bryant got one. So did a lot of other random successful people. It's just a token award that Presidents give out all the time.
BB is certainly worthy to stand on that stage given what he has accomplished.

Each president has their tendencies with this thing. Obama seemed to focus on Hollywood more than other industries. Trump has done a lot in sports.
