re: Why does O show his cards?

well O didn't handle the natty well considering: we just had our worse regular season since 1999, we just put the worst defense we ever have put on the field in our entire history and we managed to lose out on a dc that we were paying probably .5 mil more than ND would have.
Since the natty Ed O got divorced, spent the entire offseason training mma and then hooking up with a girl that was dumb enough to take a pic of them after banging. He lost control for a bit and was coasting. the record shows we lost control and didn't respond well to the NC.
However, that isn't the first time a head coach at LSU lost control after a NC, Miles had a down year because he got lazy and so did PM. O can bounce back this year.

And you revert to name calling for your reply...Classy.
I also recall you saying you were wrong about Coach O. I guess the 5-5 season and O proving to everyone that he's not Saban (who is) made you flip flop again on your opinion.

geez what a pussy...head on back to the lunch thread if you're that soft
as results change we can't be critical? We have to pick one side and stick with it? Being critical when he errors isn't flip flopping.

Skillet is just a made up character in the O-T only. I said that many times, bot you're obviously too ignorant to absorb and understand that.
We lost a record number of players to the NFL after the 2019 season. We had to replace a DC and our offensive guru Brady, who I guess Derek found & hired. Our QB gets hurts early this past season. Granted, we looked like shite against Miss St and Mz, maybe just maybe it had a lot to do with all the attrition, because we ended up 5-5 with freshman QB's and looked pretty decent late in the season.
Yeah, you have every right to flip flop after all that, but it makes you a chickenshit (name calling) to do so IMO.

oh....that's cool man. Where else do you enjoy playing pretend at your age? Sorry I'm just too ignorant to understand you playing a fictional character on a message board, that is my fault. That isn't weird at all.

our offensive guru Brady,
huh? I thought Steve ran the offense.

attrition isn't an excuse for losing to them.

The entire thing is built around O hiring top notch coordinators to prop him up, last offseason his big hires were Bo Pelini and Scott Linehan. He whiffed badly on both and not only did it show on the field but cost us millions to bail him out. This goes with the territory of the CEO model. Have I advocated for firing him? Nope. Of course he's going to be given every opportunity to right the ship, but he's not absolved from criticism for that NC.

I think we can both agree that Ed speaks and has spoken out of both sides of his mouth, as most coaches do. That was evident when he was 1st hired and within a week he totally changed what he said about the offense he wanted to run. And no doubt he blundered with last season's coaching hires.
I'm still ecstatic that we got rid of Les and didn't hire Herman or Jimbo. Most coaches not named Saban and maybe a handful of others will eventually get fired. I just hope we string several good seasons together before O gets canned.
I'm glad you're still on board with O. Next season should tell us every thing we need to know about the direction of the program.

Because it didn't matter.
The first person he interviews is obviously his first choice.
And everyone would have known Freeman interviewed here.

Right but the process seemed to start and stop with Freeman. You waited a few days for him to come in and interview, took a day to wine, dine and make your pitch, then another day for him to go home and decide. Seems like the process had to be restarted once he said no because you didn't expect that outcome.

BilJ,
You seem to be in the know. I have an idiot cousin who likes to troll, but he’s on a pay site. He’s saying he saw where Arnett passed on the job. Trolling? Or can you or anyone can corroborate that?

Well, with a top candidate like Freeman, you would announce him as your top to play to his ego. it is risky, though. If you don't land him, it makes your offer look like a weaker position.

if he's interviewing with Oregon today, I'd assume he's in play

In case you haven't noticed he is goofy
