I just got a carton of the chocolate, and it is some of the best I've ever had.
I got it for $4.50 at Winn Dixie this weekend (normally it is 6.99!)
Anybody tried their other flavors?

yeah, i have...a family friend works for Kleinpeter and his sole job is to sell ice cream...he always brings us the newest flavors at Dempsey's so we can try them out...there has only been kind that I wasn't overly impressed with...their newest flavor, Pralines and Cream (i think) is incredible

Have only had the vanilla.
Has a unique taste to it.
Still like Blue Bell better.

I didn't find Kleinpeter worth extra money over Blue Bell. Blue Bell's awesome.

those little blue bell vanilla cups are like heaven. i just wish they'd have the little wooden spoon in them like the vanilla cups we use to get when i was a wee lad.

Oh no...those little wooden spoons, just like popsicle sticks, give me the shivers. Does this happen to anyone else?
Anyways... Kleinpeter chocolate is really good... but it's not often that I let myself eat "real" ice cream, so I may not be the best judge.

I have heard recently about a lot of people's problem with wooden sticks, spoons, popsickle sticks. they say its like nails on a chalkboard.

It was good the first time I had it...since then, I haven't been impressed.
Too hard, and tastes cheap for some reason.

For me, it's almost as bad as chewing aluminum foil. (for those who have never tried, it's incredibly painful and tastes horrible)

I like the ice cream but I prefer John Folse's gelatto even though it will cost an arm and a leg.

The worst is a wooden stick from a corndog. The oven ones.

Picked up a carton of Kleinpeters Butter Pecan over the weekend. Had to search really hard to find bits of pecan in it. I wasn't impressed. Looks like I'll stick with Blue Bell

kleinpeter doesnt even own their own cows anymore. they contract out cows from other farms.
i do love their butter pecan though.

I had been wanting to try some Kleinpeter ice cream, to support a local, and have always loved their milk, though buy Horizon Organic mostly of late. Thus based on Gug's thumbs-up bought an half-gallon Kleinpeter's Pralines and Cream for $6.73(more than most any Blue Bell 1/2 gal lids and any 2 Breyer's quarts) at Walmart.
First off, unlike Breyer's which is made with only three to four natural ingredients, Kleinpeter's just like Blue Bell, has high fructose corn syrup as the fourth largest ingredient, and just as with America's crappy colas since selling-out and shoving HFCS onto us in 1985, it's obnoxiously evident in each and every taste, also in texture, plus a laundry list of barely pronounceable preservatives in the mix,etc..
The "Aunt Sally's" praline pieces are miniscule and in very sparse quantity..
The texture though creamy, is a tad too gooey rather than creamy, and not so due to the butter fat content..
Very mediocre as of now, and yet for the same prices(or more)that Blue Bell, Breyers, and Baskin-Robbins charge for prepack quarts..
Let alone ice cream elitists that love Haagen-Dazs, Ben & Jerry's, Graeter's, Oberweis, Schwan's,etc..
Color me disappointed.

gotta agree w/roar. The HFCS thing and virtually no praline pieces turned me off at that price too. Tried it because of what I read here and am in no hurry to go back. Like many, I was hopeing to be able to support local businesses.
