Geez, no pleasing you guys!
Ed can’t win with the majority of people who post here. Only Woodward, Wade, and Aranda get that treatment. You’d think those 3 were the father, son, and Holy Spirit.

He did not say “under pelini”. He said the defense looks better this year than at any point last year.
Ummm...what's the difference here?

I think it’s all a done deal and the trips to BR are to finalize signatures on contracts. In the age of zoom meetings you don’t need face to face interviews to get deals in place.
Deals aren't done until they are done. That's not because there is some lack of ability to interview remotely. It's because a contract takes two parties to agree, and no one party can be sure the other party is on board until they sign.
Other offers, counter offers are always possible until that happens.

Doesn't seem like a great strategy regarding potential contract negotiations. But reeling them in is the priority, not how much they cost.

I'm glad Freeman's wife is coming so he won't have to sell her on Baton Rouge.
In my opinion, anyone who has never been here will be blown away by the beautiful University, the athletic facilities and of course Tiger Stadium. I took a tour of the Football Operations Center once and I was very impressed.
There is alot to do here. Baton Rouge has alot of crime, like most cities, but I think it is a good place to live. You also are close to New Orleans and the gulf coast.
Hopefully she gets a taste of some South Louisiana food, the best in the world.

You want them to drive him through city streets from the airport to LSU? In what, an armored truck?

Likely dependent? He messes these up.....he’s gone before the year is finished.....ala Les Miles.

He shouldn't be so candid on it. Allows rival universities to try to come in and backdoor you even harder if they know you're going for a candidate they want badly.

Bruh I don't care what kind of homer you are...Baton Rouge is a shite hole to be blunt. There's no sugar coating it. LSU's campus is nice and that's about it. It's like a cherry swirled in shite.

Baton Rouge is fine. Most college towns suck, BR isn’t an issue.

Starting to think we land Freeman. We are going all in.

This is where I think you might be wrong, and being a fan.
Compared to where? I agree BR isn’t the Mogadishu that this board claims it is, but it isn’t the most well run, beautiful city. It makes sense that we always have to give assistants a higher compensation to come here, and stay here.

One plus of being a successful coordinator for LSU is that you will get all of the credit with a winning team. Everyone thinks Ed has nothing to do with it, helps springboard to the next job. Freeman would most certainly get all the credit for turning around Pelini's pile of shite and would probably be a hot commodity thereafter.

It might not produce the cheapest result, but it might produce the result you want.
