Thinking about picking up a new Honda Foreman or Rancher sometime between now and next hunting season. I was wanting a side by side, but unfortunately can't use it on some of the WMA's I hunt, plus I hate having to tote a trailer everywhere. It's just easier to put the bike in the bed of the truck and roll on out.

Anyways, has anyone picked one up recently and can recommend a dealership and/or pricing that I can expect to pay? Don't need a bunch of bells and whistles since I only use it for hunting. Bought my last one in 06 from Great River Honda in Natchez. I'm in the Lafayette area but don't mind travelling a bit if I can save some money.

Almost everyone is retail at the moment.

Get the new pioneer 520.

Side by side but under 50 inches wide

I had two. That one in the picture above was totalled less than a week after building it.

Niece got caught in a rut and it flipped. Thankfully no one was hurt.

Sold the 2017 built the same right after. Got 10k for it. More than I paid for it and the accessories.

Good unit. Terrible ride. Low on power. But the most go anywhere side by side since the rhino.

you are not selling me here.

physically how much bigger is 1000cc vs the 500cc motor? seems the motor itself wouldnt be too much bigger and a larger powerplant could be put in if honda wanted to.

The ride can be fixed with a set of Elkas.

The power is 29hp. But the unit is thankfully geared Low from the factory.

No japanese brand will ever put a decent HP motor in a 50inch side by side ever again. Too many idiots sued over the rhino.

The 1000 wouldn't fit in the 500 frame. It's tiny. Not to mention it would bake you.

I was hoping this new revision of the 520 was going to be the old 500fa motor. Hydrostatic basically. But Honda cheaped out.

That transmission was amazing. And maintenance free.

10 minute youtube video showing how awesome it was

To the OP, I would strongly look at the smallest pioneer. Even with the things I hate, it's a great unit.

Rando, have you ever had the Mahindra Roxor and what are your feelings on them? My buddy bought one last year and he absolutely loves it.

I bought a Honda Foreman 500 brand new in 2019. Base model, manual foot shift only and straight rear axle. Old school. 5,500 dollars and it’s a workhorse.

Are you sure it wasn't 5837?

Most places arent willing to lose more than 500 bucks on them

It doesn't matter. I had to fight tooth and nail to get a discount on my rzr this year... And I've spent at least 94k with that dealer group in the last three years.

They have no reason to discount. Most are presold months out. It has made negotiation a real bitch.

Bought a 2021 rancher 4x4 420 earlier this year from Great River. I tried to shop it. No one had any in. Great River called me when they had some in. Guy told me they can't keep them in stock. Right at 6k.

Bumping this one back to the top. Starting to look around again for either a new Foreman or Rancher but leaning toward the Foreman. Any new updates on units in stock anywhere or price I should be expecting to pay?

Bought a 2021(?) Rancher 520 foot shift manual steering in Thomasville AL last September. Paid MSRP and had a winch installed. Has MAYBE 5 hours on it. I’ll sell it if you’re interested. Rkd1119 at hotmail.

FWIW if I sell it I’m buying one with power steering, if I keep it I’m adding factory PS to this unit (my mechanic thinks we can by buying all factory parts, I’m scared the ECU is different).

Rando, do you have any clue if this will work?

Fwiw after watching my uncle spend a fortune to put and auto transmission in his standard z71 truck.

Just sell your bike and get one with PS from the factory.

Save your money and just buy the Super ATV kit. It's easy to install and works well.

After I put one in my first pioneer, every single person in our hunting club now has one installed.

Takes maybe an hour to put it on. Two if you have no idea what you're doing.
