Would Herb Hand be an option for OL?

Assuming we enter the market for an OL coach. He was on staff at Texas, I don't think he's being retained there.

I think if LSU was in the market for an OL coach, we'd know that by now.

Good to know. I've followed his career for a while. Seemed to keep moving up in terms of level program he was at. Was wondering what other folks thoughts on him were.

Once upon of time I considered him a very good OL coach. One of the best on technique; not bad on scheme.
For some reason he seems to have lost a step in the coaching department. Don't know if he's having trouble communicating, hasn't adapted, or what.

I will say this, he's sort of a weird dude. The best way I can say it is that he trys way too hard to be "relateable", and it is obvious. Almost like a nerd who is always trying to convince the cool kids he's one of them.

That probably hurts him on the recruiting trail. Might explain why he moves jobs so much.

On the other hand he's been around. Been a co-OC at times, coached TEs, been a recruiting coordinator and run game coordinator. That experience doesn't grow on trees. But it doesn't translate on the field (anymore) and in the living rooms (never really did).

Lol, to be semi-facetious: I thought he was a perfect match for Herman. They are both weird.

The guy we have here now is a recruiting disaster in his own right, so we know the pain.

Why the frick would we want that disaster? You realize with the money Cregg's sorry arse is getting now LSU could have an elite OL coach?
