Alright, I drank too much over New Year's and bought it and all four seasons. I hate myself...

Beyond Light itself is pretty fun. Season of the Hunt is atrocious. You can arm up with Xenophage and beat each Lure hunt in like 2 minutes.

State of the game remains exactly how it’s been for the last 6 years. Lot of underlying potential that Bungie is incapable of fully realizing.
They have developed some of the best shooting mechanics ever and somehow made it a boring chore to shoot stuff in everything outside of the raids.
Sun setting has made an already exhausting grind even worse. They released yet another DLC without a major vendor refresh, which paired with sunsetting, resulted in a net loss of gear to chase in a freakin DLC
PVP might as well be deleted at this point now that stasis is a thing.
In summary, fully plan on continuing my abusive relationship with the game for the near future

Sunsetting and season artifact resets actually incentivize players NOT to play over time as seasons come to a close
How Bungie didn't foresee this amazes me
But this game is no longer for the "long term" power fantasy player
It is for Eververse and milking money from their player base while doing as little as possible using FOMO and dopamine addiction logic as their tools

Currently can't stop playing
First time addicted like this since forsaken/cades death
Been trying to get the xenophage past couple days
Light lvl 1266
The light vs dark aspect is an awesome plot device/play style incorporation. Yin vs yang. Wouldn't have started playing again if it wasn't for the darkness/stassis

yeah, like I mentioned earlier, you can breeze through the cryptolith hunts with Xeno...otherwise they are a bit more tedious to beat solo.

I don't see myself playing much seasonal content. I'll probably just play the Beyond Light stuff and grab powerfuls and pinnacles at my leisure.
I'm sure I have the same gripes as most of you...I'm not going to dump a ton of time into a game that doesn't respect my investment.
Bungie is stuck in a perpetual state of one step forward, two steps back. I'm hoping their recent decisions regarding infusion caps and vaulting content allow the bandwidth to focus their vision and execution. I will say I've never seen a developer pull back content people paid for...strange move.

Yea, like pretty much every season, there is so much good in here wrapped up in a bunch of stupid.
stasis is a really cool addition for pve, but it is completely broken in pvp. I think weapon balances are probably close to the best they have been in a long time. 120's may need a very small nerf and scouts a very small buff, but otherwise there are lots of options right now. If we had the weapon meta we have this season with last season's game and no stasis, crucible would be incredible right now.
The whole dark vs light stuff has been a really cool addition. The raid is a good one and a cool setting. Not incredibly long, but all the encounters are pretty enjoyable and run smoothly. The space walk is one of the cooler things they've put in a raid.

This is what I've been doing. Instead of playing everyday, I've been playing once or twice a week.
