It's time to start changing the culture and that starts by getting guys like Ingram and Gaye back as well as the rest of the OL. The roster retention and success of this round of hires will define O's tenure. He had his work cut out for him. So far he has failed on both fronts. I am pulling hard that he succeeds. Geaux Tigers

What about Kristian Fulton, Rashard Lawrence and Brieden Fehoko last year when he convinced them to stay? Did he fail then? If he doesn’t convince those kids to come back we might not win a national title

O deserves so much more support than he gets.

Goddamn he’s revolutionized our offense and brought us the best year ever after winning a fiesta bowl. He’s recruited and coaches a Thorpe, blienikoff and heisman winner.

He’s beaten Saban. Name all the coaches in the country that can claim that.

If you continue with unrealistic expectations then you’ll end up like Auburn. Paying 25 million dollars to get a worse coach.

Ed just produced another top 5 class and already has a 5* QB committed next year.

Fulton was the only one with any business leaving early.

Fehoko wasn't even drafted.

Going 5-5 and having a bunch of dudes play like arse is one way to change the culture of early declaring

In all fairness, how many players have left with the majority of fans knowing they needed to stay. Just saying not getting drafted hasn't stopped those who were determined to leave.

Rashard Lawrence was a great ball player last year but OK.

Where are we last year without Kris?

No one remembers he balled the frick out in that Bama game.

Hasn’t Fehoko been active for the Chargers this year?

Coach O working OT, or he better be. Critical that LSU can hold on to some starters.

I think LSU was extremely fortunate that a few guys decided to stay last year. And we're all thankful that they did. But, that doesn't take away from the fact that so many have left early, or outright bailed, in this year's case.

I don't know what you do, specifically, to change the mindset of players from doing that. But, whatever the case, it has to change somehow, or we will never be consistently in the national picture. You can't keep everyone, but other programs seem to always keep enough. I wish LSU could do that. There is always talent, but it's always young, underdeveloped guys (with the exception of last year), and then when they start to improve, they leave.

And I know it's the deadest of all dead horses to beat, but we have to do a better job of recruiting, developing, and keeping offensive linemen long enough to develop their replacements.

Miles recruited Delpit FWIW.

Lawrence also didn't leave early. He would've been drafted after 2018 and may have moved up, at most, a round from 2019. He got sold on coming back to get a championship and that's what he did

Go pro early. Quit on your team. Loyalty means nothing. Feed that inflated ego. LSU fans will still love you even if you don’t get drafted.
Fans and recruiting experts pump these kids up as early as middle school. Most players believe all the hype. It’s sad what has happened to college football

Many of them are not turning down millions. They leave to not get drafted, or be a late round pick who gets cut and makes next to nothing. I'm not mad when legit prospects leave a year early, as long as they don't quit mid-season. But I do wish more would stay, and wonder what other teams do to keep their players around longer.

Because “loyalty” for these dudes just means whatever is best for what they want as a fan. It’s extremely selfish but they cloak it behind the mythical power of “being a team player”

And don’t get me wrong, I’m selfish as hell and want the same shite. But I’m self aware to know that and to recognize these dudes are making decisions based on their life and circumstances, not mine, and they have every right to be selfish as I do

This is full of myths and half truths. Have there been some guys leave early and not get drafted? Yes just like there have been guys that came back and fell or got hurt.

As for other teams I assume you mean Bama who had 5 juniors leave last year, they recruit on another level. LSU loses more guys that other school besides Bama because we generally have more pro prospects.

ETA how many guys that went early and didn’t get drafted you think make a difference ? Guys like Dupre and Freak Johnson were minimally impactful as it was you think 1 more year changes that
