I can think of another reason: money

Yeah LSU doesn’t have that and would never break the rules to violate the sanctity or amateurism.

Or maybe kids buy into Saban, Bama and the culture of their program and all of its history more than they did and do with Les, O and LSU

Have you seen the rookie scale in the NFL

Alabama pays better than that.
come on, man, NFL minimum salary this year is $610,000. And that’s just the minimum.

The last pick of the second round gets a $1.37 million signing bonus and salary averaging $967,000 per year for 4 years. Much higher, of course, for earlier 2nd round picks and First rounders.

Bama is paying several hundred thousand dollar each to keep Najee and Devonta.
I’ll await proof of that.

And even if it were true, that’s MULTIPLES less than they’d have gotten if they were drafted last in the second round.

All you conspiracy theorists don’t realize that paying all the Bama players to stay would require a payroll of tens of millions of dollars to come anywhere close to what they’d get in the NFL.

Brainwashed, guilt trip, or just the powers of lord Vader. They are pure stupid for staying their Sr year. No national championship is worth the millions of dollars they lost this year by not being in the NFL.

I think our players are being told honestly what's best for them not what's best for LSU.

I’d like to see Smith win it but we all know he won’t. Saban wasn’t being a homer when he was talking up “Smitty”. Coming from the most demanding coach of all time, his words tell me a lot about that kids character.

Imagine having Smith playing with Jefferson, Chase, and Marshall last year. Amazing pipeline of WR talent coming out of La.

How is LSU Alabama’s rival?

How many games has LSU even been competitive in against Alabama?

There's zero chance Bama pays better than an nfl team.

Right, but they could pay enough to keep a player for another year.

There is a reason Saban is the greatest to ever do it. It’s not just recruiting, it’s not just coaching, it’s him and his way to influence every single situation. You take every possible scenario and you throw it at a kid.

Saban peobanly told them look at those guys from LSU last year, we beat their arse every year the past decade, but they had one outstanding season and look where all those guys are now. That could be you with this team next year. You can go now and get some money, or you can be apart of the greatest team ever and we will get all of y’all money.

Whether it happens or not is negligible, but that’s how you persuade a young mind.

Why do people keep asking this? Alabama didn’t win a title last year. It’s pretty fairly obvious.

How in the world does Ala. get these guys to stick around for their senior seasons? They are both great players who should both already be in the NFL this season. This is what LSU needs to figure out if they are going to be contenders year-in and year-out. Maybe it's the lure of another national championship? Chance at Heisman? I can't think of any other reasons. If they were wearing purple and gold my bet is they would be in the NFL. This is the biggest difference in these 2 elite programs. Props to those 2 guys for playing 4 years. Thoughts?
Oh yea - Merry Christmas!

Not win championships. That’s exactly the reason those 2 went back to Alabama.

Smith caught the walk off touchdown to win the National championship as a true freshman. They already have a ring.

Smith has stated he came back because it was a big deal for him to get his degree. I haven’t seen Najee’s reason why he came back.

You really think he gave up first round money to come back to bama because he would get more at bama? Then why didn't Tua, Jeudy, etc. do the same thing if it's so lucrative to come back?
