Offer to pay him Aranda's LSU salary and see if he declines the job.

I don’t think O has that type of money to offer.

Forget about him. He isn’t coming. His name was first on the list last season. Here are the reasons why:
MA. He is a badger through and through.
B. He is very well off from his playing and NFL gigs. He doesn’t need the money.
C. He’s lining himself up to be head coach at Wisconsin.
D. He is making 1 million a year. Plus incentives and is at home.

Exactly. Make him say no.

Why do idiots keep making this post?!!!!!! Not like the other million posts about this over the last few years have had different answers. No he is not coming. No matter how much money is offered. Even if by some drunk luck he does take it, he will be back in Wisconsin after 1 year as HC and then LSU back to looking for a DC. Get a DC that has no intention of being a HC for like 4 to 5 years if possible.

$3 million per year turns his head. Make him say no.
Everyone has a price. Everyone.
Everyone has a price. Everyone.

We just processed all our 3-4 guys and locked in the 4-3 recruits to replace them
Now you guys want to go back to a 3-4 and go through the same roster turnover all over again?
He’s a good coach. He’s not coming here. Move on.

It's TAF money not O's.

Great DC's aren't locked in. They change alignnments 3-4, 4-3, 5-3. Zone, nickel, Dime packages.

Great DCs also don’t leave their alma mater to go somewhere to be told what defense to run.

No one thought Aranda would leave UW either. Offer him 3x the salary he's making and see if he blinks. $3 mil.

That’s not true at all. He nearly left in 2015 if it weren’t about the Les Miles clause that Alleva forced.
Aranda wasn’t a Wisconsin alum who made millions in the league as a player
And again it doesn’t matter because he isn’t coming here to be told to run a 4-3 and we aren’t going back to a 3-4. Just accept it.

You are correct. Everyone has a price .

He’s too young to be “all in” for one collegiate head coaching gig. I’m not sure if I’m buying that.
Fun fact. Wiscy didn’t bother to put him on scholarship until his senior year. He was a 2 time all American and 2 time all conference safety at that point. Remind Jim of this.

He’s going to be in the mix for HC gigs soon. He’s got his system in place in a spot that he’s very comfortable at.
He’s not bailing on that for a job where they will tell him not to run his regular base defense and for a job that just fired the last big money DC they had after 1 season and with possible NCAA and title 9 punishments coming down the pipe.
If this were last season, it might be a different story. But the realities of our situation have changed drastically.

My point is; no one knows what he wants. He may want an NFL gig, or he may want to coordinate. Maybe he’s motivated by money, maybe titles. Who knows? If he’s the best guy and you believe you are the best program, make him say no.
Have we learned nothing? Not going after the best guy because you think he won’t be interested is the most beta thing ever.

Again you guys are missing the entire picture
It’s not just about will he say yes (because he won’t)
Even if he wanted to come here, we switched to a 4-3 and lost the 3-4 defensive talent on this roster due to opt outs and transfers and promised and built the current recruiting class on the 4-3. If we try to switch back again we go through the same exact cycle again and cripple an already depleted roster for next year.

That doesn’t matter at all. You go get the best guy.
We switched for Pelini, we can switch back. We absolutely have the personnel to do it.
You
Go
Get
The
Best
Guy

We don’t have that luxury due to past mistakes. Simple as that. Just give it up

We switched for Pelini, we can switch back.
And it fricked us. If you switch back at this point you’re essentially destroying two straight defensive recruiting classes on an already short handed roster in a must win season going into next year
It’s not feasible
