Depends on what you're shopping for. There's a lot of wines that Total Wine is significantly cheaper for relative to Rouses/Aquistapace. Not to mention their selection is huge and easily "accessible" via the app.

Gulf Coast Wine and Spirits also has better prices than total wine. Plus the owners, Dave and Jerry, are the shite.

It seemed to me that Total Wine was higher on scotch as well, but I didn't directly compare on the same day.

Not that I've seen at the newest on 1077.

Total Wine in Dallas is much better than Specs and Goody Goody. I haven’t found a place with better prices. Grocery stores can’t sell liquor here so it dramatically lowers the number of outlets.

It's also very nice to have a relationship with your local wine guy who will steer you to the kind of wine you really are looking for instead of the stuff the inexperienced guy at Total Wine will push because that's what his training manual says for him to do.

I like Acquistapace, but they sell Chandeleur Island brewing Lil Smack for $10.99 and Sierra Nevada Celebration for $9.99. Total Wine has Lil Smack for $8.99, and Celebration is $7.99. I'm a beer guy, and the selection blows Acquistapace out of the water.

If you're in Texas, just go to Spec's. Better than all of these mentioned.

Total Wine has a great selection but their prices are not better (most of the times higher). Acquistipace, Saia and Gulf Coast all sell at the legal lowest limit you can sell for by law in Louisiana. Total Wine has no competitive advantage in price in this state.

We don't have a Acquistapace on the south shore, I don't think, and I'm not driving to the north shore for booze and wine.

Total Wine low prices come from their house brands. Also, they are better than Martin's on price, and they have a better selection than most else on the South shore.

But most people don't need to choose from 26 different American vodkas...

Steve Acquistapace used to own the Claiborne Hill IGA.

That’s all I got.
