What’s the quickest/most drastic change of temperature you’ve experienced?

The NY snowfall post got me thinking of the most drastic temperature change I’ve experienced.
I was stationed in the Army at Fort Drum, NY. They moved me to Panama City, Panama in February. When I left NY it was around 25 degrees with 2-3 ft of snow on the ground. When I got off the plane in Panama it was around 90 with what felt like 150% humidity. It felt like a normal May Day in Louisiana. But after being in NY for 3 years and being used to freezing temps, I thought I was going to pass out from the heat.
I know some of y’all have traveled the world in the military or O&G and have seen some extreme changes. So what’s your most extreme temperature change?

I flew from BR to Omaha for work in February maybe 15 years ago. Left home and it was about 60 degrees. Walked out of the Omaha airport to -24

I’m taking it you’ve never left Louisiana. Because a temperature change like that is something you never forget.

I was in Denver in October of 2019 and between Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning, the temperature dropped from 83 degrees to 19 degrees with 4" of snow.

Probably hiking up and camping at the top of Black Balsam Knob in North Carolina. Could be remembering wrongly, but it was in April or so and parts of the Blue Ridge Parkway were still cutoff due to wintry high roads or whatever. I believe it was 75/80 at the base and when we got to the top it was in the 40s.

Colorado has some weird arse weather. I lived there for 1 1/2 years. One October we had 2 inches of snow on a Monday. By Wednesday it was around 80.

I grew up in Iowa. I’ve been to Louisiana for a total of 7-10 days in my entire life.
Biggest change I remember was going home through Chicago from Florida once. Got on the plane and it was 80, landed in Chicago and it was -40 wind chill.

I was coming to post this. I was staying at a friends house, was wearing t shirt and shorts that afternoon, woke up the next morning to a 75 degree temperature drop.

I walked from a 90 degree warehouse to a -20 icecream freezer then back out the door to 104 Louisiana heat wearing nothing but a t-shirt and shorts. AMA (Tour of Associated Grocers Warehouse back in the day)
If flying counts, this counts.

I have a friend in Karlsruhe, Germany who texted me that the temperature today there dropped over 20°F in less than one hour.

When the winter storm of early 1993 came through NOLA, I went from wearing shorts and a t-shirt to winter clothing in an hour.
I was at volleyball on coconut beach when the front arrived. We had snow flurries very soon after.
Driving into Flagstaff, AZ in 2014 I drove through a blizzard outside of town, and when I got out of my car in the hotel parking lot it was sunny and 65 degrees.

Back in the mid-90s, we went from around freezing (30-ish) to -22 with a winter storm that moved through. We lost power for several days. Coldest I've ever been in my life.

I'll take the cold arse over icy cold feet any day of the week.

Fifty five degrees- teens.Within 4 or 5 hours. Not much, but it was a big deal to me.
Freeze in S.Louisiana early 80’s.
We were in the marsh and the water started to freeze during daylight hours.Had never seen that before.
Bruce?Stire ( a young businessman from Houma) and his friend froze to death that night returning from duck hunting.
Lake Decade froze over solid.

Very similar for me, but in reverse. Left Ely, Minnesota around 6AM and it was -25. Flew into Greenville, SC around 6PM and it was about 65. 90 Degree difference in one day.
