Anyone here into “overlanding”

Or know someone who is?
The south doesn’t have as large an overlanding community as say the West coast states, but does anyone here ride trails and camp?
My wife and I just bought our first trailer, along with a RTT, and have camped in it a few weekends now at local parks. We’re looking forward to getting it out on the trails and camping for up to a week at a time.
Who else has made this a hobby?

Looks like an expensive tent that should cost $79.00

We need pics before we can tell you if "overlanding" is our hobby

Looks neat.
Same could be accomplished for a lot less money than that rig costs.

Is over landing a fancy name for primitive camping?

I remember reading a blog/message board years ago with a guy detailing his trip through the Congo, I think it was.
It was badass and entertaining as hell

And why do you need a tent if there are cabins in the picture?

So is it a tent on top of a small trailer?

Also, cute truck your wife has there. Where is your f250?

I love the outdoors
But at the end of the day I want a hot shower, comfy bed and AC.

Just camping. Never called it "overlanding". At least it isn't "living somewhere else for a while" in a fully-equipped camper and passing it off as camping.

I do variations of it. Have an InTech Flyer Explore I'm slowly outfitting for off-grid. Pull w Subaru Ascent. Gonna add RTT when kiddos are older.
Have a Lance truck camper on 4x4 truck that I've taken pretty deep off road (and I'll drop it in a camping spot if I want to go real offroading in truck).
Most off-grid/boondocking has been as basecamp for backpacking, skiing, etc.
All things camping have gotten out of control the past 9 months. I'm ready for people to go back to their hotels. But that's the beauty of overlanding; you can still get away from everyone.
Oh and sweet setup. I have to go larger with a family of four and two big dogs. But I'd love to add a more nimble rig for me and the boys trips.
Taxa makes some cool stuff too.
Eta: if you want less idiotic responses move to outdoor board.

Its a hipster word for off road camping. Or primitive trail camping, stuff people have been doing for thousands of years.
