School Zone camera ticket NOLA

I know it’s been discussed, but what’s the latest way around these dumb arse things? It is against everything in me to just pay the fine.

I have been super lucky with that, but I hear a lot of friends talk about having gotten those and parking tickets by the ticket ladies uptown. Most have said they paid neither type. I'm not sure it its an "official ticket." Your call I suppose.

They can boot your car if one of their vans catch you parked on a public street. It happened to me.
I say this very begrudgingly, but it's easier to just pay it if you are local and parking on the street, etc.

With the parking tickets I believe they will if they catch the car in one of their spots. But around Tulane/Loyola it seems they enforce all the parking tickets pretty inconsistently. The boot is a huge PITA. A girl I know got booted not too long ago (for parking too close to a stop sign) and it has a digital keypad and you call the number and pay via card on the phone and they give you the code. A complete racket. I think they even expect you to return the boot to them,

You can try it. The hearings are a joke in my experience. it's worth arguing though.

Not sure about the New Orleans cameras, but some of them take pictures of the car from the front and back and if these are like that then it may be difficult to dispute that you were driving lol. I got one at the camera where i110 turns into scenic/61 in Scotlandville, I paid it unfortunately but the payment processed was a website for a private company IIRC. I feel like the New Orleans ones are processed by some State far off.

Well the ones on Carrolton/St. Charles will take your picture and ticket you for going 1mph over (even when its not school zone time at the higher speed limit) and if you aren't super familiar with the area you really don't even know that you have gone through a school zone.

I don't know about now, but I remember a few years back the College Dr. camera would have seizures and start strobe lighting snapping pictures of everyone due to a malfunction lol.

Yeah I generally don’t speed in school zones, but I had no idea I was in one...
