depends on where it goes. Some people can live with them for months. Usually, it's chest pressure and SOB with a feeling of impending doom.

A pulmonary embolus after a leg procedure can happen quickly unfortunately. Shortness of breath is a symptom. My mentor colleague passed that way.

If it is big enough clot, person can be gone in seconds. It’s a real thing for sure
