I'm starting to think I might have shingles, but haven't been able to schedule an appointment to get it checked out yet.

Does anyone have any experience with shingles at a relatively young age? (I'm roughly 30, FYI)

Would be a serious coup considering I haven't had sex with anyone but your mother since Covid started...oh wait...

Think anyone will answer the phone on a saturday? Is this something I'd need to schedule with a dermatologist or should I go to an after hours clinic? I honestly have no idea what to do. I don't even know who my primary care doctor is because I so rarely go to the doctor.

I had them when I was 16. Puppy love gone bad. Broke my heart. Stress is a trigger.

Not surprising, then.

Had nerve shingles on my toe when I was 38. Went from showing up to work feeling just fine, to 30 minutes later, hobbling through the ER parking lot sobbing in tears. Some of the worst pain I’ve ever been in. Was on crutches for a week and couldn’t walk.

Had two subsequent flare ups months after it happened. Pain was still significant but not as bad.

It can feel like nothing up to hurting like hell when air moves across it. A picture is worth 1000 words. If you have anything that looks like shingles just go to aftercare until you can get to your primary care.

My husband had them when he was about 25 - not fun - but that was a few years ago

a coworker got them not too long ago - she is older but her doc gave her some anti-viral meds and she was fine in a day or two

Wife had it a few years ago. She did an essential oils bath and had me rub her WAP and she was better by Tuesday.

I don’t think covid comes with a giant itching/burning rash on my torso. Plus, I’m pretty sure I had Covid back in February.

I had them about 3 years ago and it was fricking miserable. If you just look at shingles wrong it will send shooting stabs through your body. My buddy is a dermatologist and he got me straightened out but it’s not an overnight fix.

I’ll pray for you

Yup, I was in my mid twenties. Put me down for a couple of days. Apparently stress triggers it.

Can’t lie though, the worst part was being a young single fella getting a prescription of Valtrex filled by two very attractive pharmacists. ?? Of course I wanted to explain, but damn I was hurting too bad to even try.

Yup. Had it at like 27.

Started feeling like a hot spot, like my shirt was rubbing my the wrong way but in a spot there was nothing to run me. Small red bumps on one side of your “trunk” is usually a telltale sign.

Becomes sharp pain. Not horrible in most cases but unpleasant.

I’ve known so many young people who’ve gotten it that I think The whole “it’s uncommon in young people” is bogus.

I had them when I was 18. It felt like a sunburn on my back. My son had them when he was 21. Dermatologist fixed him up but it was painful.
