Big deal. Our recruiting is on par with then yet we go through massive ‘rebuilds’, attitude issues, team leaders opting out two weeks after players only meetings, HC taking selfies in bed with girls half his age.

At what point do we overcome the stereotype of La being a political failure trickling down to every aspect of life in the state?

Saban (and Dabo) have been at their current schools for 12+ years each.

It takes time to establish a consistent program.

Will Orgeron accomplish that? I don’t know. But it’s foolish to compare him to them at this point.

Back in reality

Entering 2019, 16 teams are above the 50% Blue-Chip Ratio:

Ohio State 81%

Alabama 80%

Georgia 79%

LSU 64%

Florida State 61%

Clemson 60%

USC 60%

Penn State 60%

Michigan 60%

Texas 60%

Oklahoma 60%

Auburn 58%

Washington 54%

Notre Dame 54%

Florida 53%

Miami 51%

The offseason was literally a perfect shite storm and this season is widely viewed as a farce. Accept the bottleneck year, couldn't happen in a better year tbh

It’s think it’s finally starting to sink into CEO’s head that he’s in a bad situation. Especially if he and Woodward aren’t even on speaking terms as rumored.(not saying that’s it’s true. Only that I’ve read it a couple times on here.) If indeed true, I really do think O will go back to what he was hired for, and that’s to hire the best coordinators available and truly be the CEO.

I maybe wrong, but I don’t think that he so jaded to not change things up ala CLM. I don’t think he’s going to take the fall for anyone.

Saban set the foundation and built the program for the next 20. That is the difference between him, Miles and Orgeron. That IS a “Big Deal”.

When the head coach stays out of politics to save his arse. Saban didn’t need politics. In fact he told them the go screw themselves whenever he wanted. He is a head coac that EVERYONE respected because he demanded it. Orgeron is not.

It is because of the type of athlete we recruit and the way we recruit them. We sell these kids on getting to the NFL and Saban sells them on being at Bama. We can only refill the cupboard once every four years.

No it’s not. Not on the front end( recruiting HS seniors) and not on the back end(recruiting players to stay one more year).

Our recruiting is not really in par with Bama’s. It has been really good the last 2-3 years (at least on paper) but the gulf between their classes and ours was still significant. Then you add in our weird culture of leaving early and talent hasn’t really been close outside of last year.
