Masks have not been proven to prevent the spread of a virus. Look at the statistics. If masks work, then why are we back to phase 2? It's not because "y'all aren't doing what you're told" as Governer Boucher keeps saying. It's because you CAN'T HIDE FROM A VIRUS. Thinking you can, requires you to ignore everything we've ever learned about how a virus works. You know why numbers might be spiking? Several factors:

1) Mandated testing. More testing = more positives. Not all positives are true though, as has been seen. There is a large margin of error.
2) It's getting colder. Novel Corona virus is a type that is more active in colder weather.
3) Over-reporting and attributing things to coronavirus that aren't coronavirus.

And anyway, NONE OF THIS MATTERS. Survivability, if you get the virus, is 99.7%. Survivability of the average human is even higher, at 99.996%, meaning not everyone catches it, and those that due, still have that 99.7% survivability. Your comment is one that mostly stupid people make. People who don't know how to think critically and are more prone to following, rather than leading. You are sheep.

When I pump gas or smell food with my mask on... yea, I’m sure the masks reaaaaaaally work

Friend,

38,000 Americans died in car wrecks last year.

538,000 Americans are projected to die of COVID-19 in the first year of it in America.

My coworker’s husband spent three weeks in the ICU with Covid and died on Thanksgiving Day at the age of 35. Had three young daughters who will now grow up without their father. While I’m not really “scared to death” of the virus, it is worth taking it seriously because that same situation could literally happen to anyone at any time. It boggles my mind how many people think this is a hoax. I certainly hope you or nobody you love dies from this virus. Just wear the mask....such a minor inconvenience. Get over yourself internet tough guy. I really doubt you even have any qualifications to be telling us about the science of these droplets anyway.

That's sad. But whatever happened to your coworker's husband is RARE. Very rare. Like every single virus known to man, people react differently to it. Yet we haven't completely altered our entire lives becuase of it. Coronavirus IS NOT GOING AWAY. You can't hide from it. You can't protect yourself by slapping a dish cloth on your face and calling it a mask. You can't wish it away by selectively shutting down small businesses. You can't scare it away by shutting down alcohol sales after 11 pm. It won't go away if you stop playing live music. There hasn't been 1 single mandate or edict in regards to "stopping the coronavirus" that makes any logical sense. Not 1. And everytime some retarded mandate of "well you can serve food, but no alcohol due to CV restrictions" comes out, and we challenge it because of it's nonsensical nature, we get idiots who say, "just wear the damn mask, THINK OF THE ELDERLY!!!" That is NOT a logical response. That is an emotional response devoid of common sense and intelligence.

In short, the ONLY WAY for coronavirus to go away, is to develop immunities for it. I'd say majority of Americans probably have them now considering the CDC tells you to stay away from everyone because they could be "asymptomatic". That's a great thing. That means they have immunities. Just like those that get it.

We are destroying people's lives over a virus with 99.7% survivability rate. It's asinine. And again, as sad as what happened to your coworker is, shite happens sometimes. We aren't demanding "no more cars" if someone dies of a car wreck. We aren't masking up for the common flu.

Considering only 240k have died, and we only have 3 weeks left, that projections is WAY OFF.

You also need to subtract the intentional deaths of the elderly caused by the Governor of New York, and the nursing homes in Washington/Oregan. That right there accounts for 25% of TOTAL DEATHS from Coronavirus in the US.

Remember this number, 99.7% survivability rate.

It is vitally important that we employ N95 mask use among the entire populace and ensure that they are used appropriately. It is also important to keep the bars shut down as they have been shown to be the source of multiple super spreader events. Moreover, bars only hurt communities and families in good times. They serve no positive function for a society. Should bars never reopen America would be far stronger for it.

This would actually be a logical "mandate". However, you would also HAVE to mandate the proper wearing of an N95 mask, and mandate disposal after each use. You can't wear a protective mask and constantly fidget and touch it. At least if this was mandated, it would have science behind it. THERE IS NO SCIENCE BEHIND ANY CURRENT MANDATE.

I understand you are a teetotaler. I'm a "let adults do what they want" type. Bars are no more "super spreader" events than grocery stores or department stores.

Well of course there isn't. These mandates have nothing to do with science, logic, or reason. It's all pure emotion to make Karen feel safe and show that the government is "doing something" without actually having to do anything.

Prime example of supreme retardation of "officials and health professionals" mandating masks.

But hey, at least they are "wearing a damn mask".
