Everything is going to be an asterisk this year. But we don’t like how our FB team is playing as a whole. But if you step back, the most glaring miss is Miles Brennan. Our defense has gone from pathetic to just OK. So be it. The variety of plays and continuity from last year offense play calling is gone when dealing with true freshman QBs.

The first games problem was straight defense, but offense had a chance to pick them up. Didn’t happen.

Looking forward to rebuilding, whatever that details re changes. CEO is the right guy. He will show us once again!

TLDR - we be good to go next year and this year no one is taking seriously.

I’m tired of excuses. Every Tiger fan should be pissed at the product on the field. Losses to State and Missouri are unacceptable as is the historic fashion in which we lost to Auburn.

I was meh because of COVID and feeling like a half assed season. Their play has only made me less interested. I'll watch LSU Basketball and casually catch some FB.

No I’m not meh about this year. Losing to Mizzou and Mississippi st is unacceptable. Losing to teams like that is worrisome regardless of covid.

I'm less interested in following the sport as a whole but from an LSU perspective this has been a disaster. nothing 'meh' about it for me.

Right now I’m still watching but they’ve really lost me. From the woke bullshite, to players opting out, to a collapse in coaching I just find myself caring less

When the players marched across the campus I was MEH before the season started!

Don’t disagree this year will be an asterisk.

Here’s the thing, O struck out on both hires: Linehan and Pellini. Neither are successful coaches for what the SEC has moved to offensively. Lineham can’t run it - or make E a better coordinator, and Pellini can’t stop it - never has, and hasn’t shown he can.

What move O does make is honkin’ huge for next year - which won’t have an asterisk.

i try not be be hyperbolic or over emotional, but im extremely worried about the program moving forward. we are at 1999 level right now.we have a good "coach" who's not an x's/o's cerebral guy. he's dependent on coordinators and we already knew that. right now is just about recruiting. idk wtf is gonna happen with assistants.

Absolutely. It's hard to find any excitement or interest. The outcomes are predictable. It's not entertaining. There are no stars on this team and nothing compelling about any of it.
Mercifully it will be over in three weeks.

Yep.

The BLM shite completely changed my view of LSU football. If the program is willing to allow itself to be contaminated with that hateful nonsense, I’m not going to be compelled to support it like I have for the past 35 years. The entire movement is predicated in lies and anti-white sentiments. Screw that.

Roll Tide because they need this beat down to teach them why they came to LSU as football players.

I was "meh" before first kickoff. Just a bad taste from all the offseason stuff and, of course, COVID.

The team's performance certainly hasn't drawn me back into rapt attention, although I am encouraged by the defensive improvement the last game.

I think we're in the middle of a 2 or 3 year rebuilding phase and it is actually a good thing we're having a "losing" season in 2020 - it is an anomalous year and that will be the explanation for it going forward. I think Brennan getting hurt early has ended any chance we had of salvaging the season, but the freshmen have looked good - at times (and, of course, at other times, they have looked like freshmen).

This modern, December recruiting, transfer portal, "opt out" era of college football just doesn't have the draw of the "good old days".

I hate when people try to put asterisk on things.

If we were undefeated we would be pumped.

I am meh about the play on the field even with the loses in players and assistant coaches. It drives home the point that Coach O is not an Xs and Os guy. He needs great hires to win.

I am meh about LSU's enthusiastic support of BLM instead of buying into team. When players are allowed to be distracted by shite like that, it undermines a winning mindset.

I am meh about the continued exodus of underclassman each season. It is systemic of how the program is sold in the living room during recruiting rather than the benefits of LSU to continue to develop a player into their senior season.

I am meh about the future of the program as commitments are beginning to hit the door due to the amazing fall off from last season. LSU had a chance to establish itself as truly elite within college football, but we are back to hoping for a second or third place finish in the SEC West for the foreseeable future.

After last year, I’ll give O a mulligan on this one. My primary concern is losing a few big recruits that we really need. That, and whether or not O can re-establish the culture he created or whether he has lost the team for good.

Coach O is becoming the second coming of Les. As long as we are winning they are lovable goofballs whom everyone likes. But when we start losing, they are shown to be poor coaches who don't really belong at the top tier. O has not done what he promised. Half of his hiring choices have been dismal. But he also meddles in their plans when he said he knew that was not his strength.

His supposed strengths of motivation and recruiting are now highly suspect as well. He has lost the loyalty of his team over stupid remarks in the press. If you add up all the opt outs (quitters), lost recruits and what will undoubtedly be a lot of transfers at season's end, we are going to be short in personnel next year also.

As someone pointed out, there is a simple reason Alabama and Saban have dominated us. It is recruiting pure and simple. Saban kills O in the area he is supposed to be best at. Alabama's offensive line is always a factor of two or three times better than ours. The main reason we beat them last year, was them making too many mistakes and oh yeah we had a guy called Burrow back there who could escape when our off. line let those rushers through.

So yeah this year is a disaster in so many ways and the covid did have a lot to do with it but everyone else had the same problems from that. But how you think next year will be any better is beyond me.
