Because there's a culture of pride in playing for Alabama. Howd they get Devonta Smith to return instead of making a "business decision"?

Well Bama is able to sell that they are going to get them to the nfl but also are able to sell them on representing Alabama and finishing what was started.

Seems like our players could care less about LSU once they get here. They could give two shits about finishing what they started. They all about that money and getting the nfl whether they are projected 1st round picks or undrafted free agents.

We obviously get juniors to return but NEVER on the level of players like Leatherwood, Smith and Etienne.
Hell we can’t even get good draft eligible sophomores to return.

Smith is a bad example because he would have been a late 1st rounder at best if he left last year. This year, he's the first or second WR off the board. It also goes to show that coming back and improving your draft stock absolutely has merit.

LSU players that leave early to get their careers trying to get to that second contract while they still have their health.

Alabama players are setting themselves up with generational wealth with their signing bonuses alone.

Estimated signing bonus for #32 is $5.3 million.
Estimated signing bonus for 3rd round is $1 million.

Saahdiq Charles absolutely should have come back. That would have been the correct "business decision". His entire 4 year contract is worth about $4 million. If he came back and stayed healthy he could have made that $4 million from his signing bonus alone.

That was a business decision. No one was mentioning him as a first rounder last year.

All of these kids are making a business decision. Their boosters are absolutely pooling their money and paying these kids enough money to keep them in school, anyone who thinks athletes in 2020 are turning down millions to do good ole Alabama a solid and play another year is crazy

Exactly, Bama football is a way of life over there. Bama Football is Alabama politics.

Smith probably would’ve been the 7-9th WR drafted. Higgins went #33 and he wasn’t going before him.

Same thing for Najee. He wasn’t going ahead of Clyde, Taylor, Swift (lol), or Dobbins - would’ve been a late 2nd at best.
