The only 1st person shooter games I ever played often was Call of Duty and Halo. Was absolutely horrible at Call of Duty. I was really good at Halo though. Can't explain why but it is true.

How tell you how long it’s been since I was good at these games, Call of Duty was still about WW2 games and I played them on a computer.

Speak for yourself. I'm old got started with Atari and started playing 1st person shooters with Black ops 1 . Since then i have played Black ops 2 , black ops 3, ww2 ,Black ops 4 and now cold war. My Kd is about a 2.2 combined on all those games. I love getting the messages from the young bucks saying i cheated

I feel like with Twitch/YouTube and the constant playing, the community (the younger ones) has gotten better. They’re constantly talking, watching, or playing the games.
While me and you play once a blue moon so we get smoked.
I stick to 1 player games now too. For the most part.

I’ve always been pretty bad at them. I was only ever even average at Halo 2 and Goldeneye because I knew all the spawn spots, weapons caches, and was a shameless screen watcher. Most modern first person shooters are just so chaotic that I am usually dead within seconds of spawning before even learning rudimentary controls.

Same boat. I was only ever REALLY good at one game, old Return to Castle Wolfenstein. It didn't matter what class I played, I dominated. I excelled at sniping though. But my friends from jr. high and high school and I all played all the time, had LAN parties where we'd play RTCW and only RTCW. They'd ban me from playing sniper because it was insta-win for my team.
Otherwise I have only ever been good at MMOs. An old game, Conquer Online, I was moderately well-known for my pvp skills, and I made videos so I occasionally had people from other servers hit me up for duels and to watch duels.
WoW I always play Pally and always tanked or healed and people loved having me around, pvp or pve, so I figure I was pretty good there too. At least proficient.
These days I just don't game enough to be very good. So mostly stick to single player.

Just a sad fact that as we get older, we get progressively worse at video games.
I really wish I had grown up in this era of gaming.
35 now and grew up when N64 Goldeneye split screen was all the rage.

I got the kids a Super Nintendo Classic, and only play on that - they think I'm a video game god.
