Burrow played 7 games last year as the projected #1 pick

That’s 7 opportunities to get hurt and possibly drop way down the draft board and lose millions. But he played anyway.
“But.. but his team was in contention for a championship”
So? How many former #1 picks would trade their millions of dollars for a natty? The answer is zero. That’s why the whole “risking your career for meaningless games” argument is complete bullshite. NO GAME is worth your career.
Bottom line is Burrow isn’t a quitter. Guys like Chase and Marshall are. It is what it is.

Last year's team had a completely different mindset.

Playing for a championship is playing for something.

Burrow took the lead with 7 games to go. But I dont Think he could have quit 7 games in and still hold off Tua.

Playing for your team is worth playing for.

Rich quitters that are about to make more money then you’ve ever seen in your lifetime

True but you are talking about a player who has had a major injury already and played himself into a 1st round pick. He gains zero finishing this season.

Is Burrow transferring not quitting? Or is it a good decision for his career?

Yes it is. He should’ve just waited his turn. A quitter and a man of low morals. /sarcasm

Go straight to the NFL and stop wasting scholarships other kids deserve

Not at the moment but this may very well open the door

While I understand your point rgd money vs. playing meaningless games, A comparison of Burrow vs. Marshall is not apples to apples.
LSU can not win a championship this year at this point. Thye have three games left and at best will be 4th in the SECW, so essentially we are wanting Marshall to put his future at risk for 3 games that at best would not realize any team goal for the season. When the collective goals are no longer attainable, his focus shifted to personal goals. Him beast-moding against the last 3 teams would not put him any higher of a draft pick than he would be at this point, so for him, it's all risk for minimal to no reward.
Last year was different. Every team goal was still attainable, so every person on the team did what they could to help attain it.
It's easy for us to sit here with nothing on the line to criticize another person's decisions, but Marshall has nothing else to prove and the team isn't going anywhere.
If we want guys to "opt-in", then don't have a dumpster-fire of a year like this one.

Sorry who’s scholarship was a waste?
The guy who set the LSU single season reviving yard and reviving TD record or the guy who has 10/17 of our receiving TDS thisnyear?
Also who should have gotten those scholarships?

Yep that’s totally the same as playing 3 games that could be canceled or ppd at the last minute for a chance to finish some where between 6-4 and 3-7
ETA Burrow also would not have won the Heisman if he he “opted” out which he can monetize the rest of his life

But at the end of the day college championships don't put food on the table. If you are of the mindset that you want to maximize your NFL potential and limit unnecessary risk. Once you have a reasonable good chance to receive a 1st round draft grade, might as well quit and start training for the combine regardless of team record. Hopefully this is just due to a weird Covid year and this type of mindset doesn't persist.
