I mean, you can't help which parts of town turn shitty, sometimes....

Forced social engineering of schools by the government

wait, are you saying the initial purpose, of desegregation, was a BAD thing?

No - the hypocrisy is they forced integrated the schools and let them turn shitty. They still blame whitey even though property taxes are mostly aimed at public education. There were some pretty decent schools in BR up until the early 80’s. Democratic leadership changed that and the article clearly points it to racist whitey. Did you even read the article?

Busing in the 1980s wounded the schools and they slowly bled to death. If your kid is smart you are fine, magnet schools are great. If your kid isn’t academic, you prob need to move out of town or go to private school.

Forced integration and bussing did not improve a single black neighborhood but damned sure ruined countless white neighborhoods.

Yes.

It’s a noble idea, but when forced is always a failure. They should allow any student to go to any school, but forced no one.

Forced bussing has ruined more schools and towns than nearly anything.

Purpose? If my ear itches I could shoot a pistol at it for the purpose of curing the itch. Good purpose, right? But the unintended consequences make it a very foolish choice. Sopit is with almost all leftist projects. Good intentions, but horrible results. This is what led to the quote, “The problem with capitalism is capitalists; the problem with socialism is socialism.”
