Mickey is under appreciated by our fans, does a great job with cap and additions

Random thought of the day award

He has done an excellent job for the most part of balancing the budget. We have missed on some acquisitions and also some non signings, but ultimately he has done a real good job.

I feel like he is a guy who has made mistakes in the past and learned a lot from them. He has come up with a formula for building a team that really works for us. He is a guru with contracts but still feel like that will bite us one day.

Fine Mickey, good job mate! Not bad for a former CPA.

He shouldn't. He's a figure head at this point.
Ireland does the scouting, Harley does the cap

Loomis missed on many assets until Ireland came along.

Everyone gives the GMs too much credit or too much blame to begin with. Loomis isn’t a personnel guy. Ireland is but Ireland doesn’t manage the cap like loomis does. And to be honest Payton is really the one calling the shots when it comes to acquisitions. It’s a mixture that has paid off massively for us. Loomis imo isn’t perfect. Man backloads a ton of contracts and has put us in a position of little leverage due to not getting ahead of certain contracts. Ireland def isn’t perfect snd there’s a reason he isn’t in miami besides personal stuff. The revamping of the scouting department has helped the organization out tremendously and i think Ireland is a huge part of that. But it’s loomis bringing in guys like Ireland. You can’t give any one guy credit without giving the others.

It is a good situation where everyone leans on their strengths.
I wish I thought Ireland was making more of the decisions on draft day.

Loomed should have been fired with Haslett

I’ve always assumed a lot of the things people give Ireland credit for was actually Mickey.

You mean he hasn’t pitched 1.000 over a decade!?!? No shite lol.

I'm just going to say under Loomis (GM since 2002) outside of the Katrina season we have gone no worse than 7-9.
Don't really care what you think his role is, he is still GM and has helped bring us our only Super Bowl. He's the one that interviewed Payton and immediately knew he was our coach. So before you go writing him off for whatever you think he doesn't do, remember that.
Payton also says he and Loomis are the ones who make final roster decisions. Yes they get lots of input, but they are the 2 that decide to pull the trigger or not.
(This post is not directed at you Hester, you were just the last post).

The Saints were spiraling under Loomis & Payton before Jeff Ireland was hired. Fact.

There's no denying things got stale. Ireland is like when a couple finds a third to spice things up.
But it's also not like we were going with 3, 4, and 5 wins. We were still in the mix.
Getting Ireland was huge no doubt, but again that was Loomis' call at the end.
You love to knock him, but don't give him credit for those big time hires. He's also the one that brought on Harley and showed him the ropes.
Harley actually came on in the same EXACT role Loomis did back in 2000. He came on as Director of Football Administration back in 2008. Loomis is grooming him as his eventually replacement.
So Loomis is fricking killing it.

You’re a stupid pussy who adopts whatever opinion goes against the consensus and even your own parents dislike you. Fact.

So what yourse saying is Loomis brought in a great employee that is thriving underneath him while having flashes but never panning out elsewhere?
Damn Lester, you are a sunshine pumper, as contratian as you attempt to be. I agree, Loomis is the shite.
