And I’m not sure who to start this week. Starting Henry and Harris at RB and James Robinson at Flex right now. Jonnu at TE
Currently have:
Thielen vs Dallas
Kirk @ Seattle in the lineup
Bench is
DJ Moore vs Detroit
AJ Brown @Baltimore
Tee Higgins @ Washington
Jakobi Meyers @ Houston
I’ve gotten to this point because Ekeler and Mostert have been on my bench on IR for weeks now and I went from starting dominant RBs to acquiring a plethora of WR2 WR3 type players through free agency (drafted Moore, Brown and Thielen)
Just playing the best matchups at the moment but Thielens inconsistent targets worry me and I get the feeling Higgins or Meyers outscore him. I played Kirk and Brown last week and of course Thielen and Moore outperformed them by a wide margin. Thoughts?
I’m 7-3 and in first due to points for. Two other 7-3 teams. I’m virtually guaranteed a playoff spot but really need to finish with the 1 seed

AJ Brown is NOT a Wr2/3, he had a bad week where he dropped a huge touchdown.

Okay. Great insight. He’s WR26 in half PPR so that's exactly what he is

That player ranking stat doesn’t account for missed games OR for bye weeks. AJ Brown has only played 7 games. Some of the other WR’s ranked higher than him have played 9 and even 10 games.
You need to look at his average points per week. He sits at #14, right behind Thielen at #13. That’s high end WR2 territory. Some would nudge it to borderline WR1 (12 team leagues).

A.J. Brown: Brown left a potential touchdown on the field last week with a drop, which halted his streak of scoring in five straight games. His 1-21-0 line came on just four targets, his fewest in a game this season. Baltimore is allowing 12.1 points per game to opposing WR1 options, which is fourth in the league. The only lead wideout to clear 100 yards against them has been Terry McLaurin. But we have already seen Brown post a 4-101-1 game against the Bears and a 6-153-1 games against the Steelers to know we should not run away from him as a starting-caliber wideout even if the matchup is not overly alluring.
some stats to think about and help you decide.

What is he in PPG. Since, you know, he's missed several games due to injury.

Data can sometimes be hard.
Here’s a great example - Robby Anderson is ranked as the WR12 on the year, yet his PPG is almost 2 full points less than AJ Brown. AJ scores 16.5 FF points per week (in a full point PPR) versus Anderson who scores only 14.6. Yet Anderson is the WR12 and AJ Brown is the WR26.
Figure out which data point you’d rather use... or in other words, which one is more useful.

At this stage in the season I’m more interested in what you’re doing lately and what matchup you have than what you’ve done all year. Higgins and Meyers are clear target monsters for their respective teams right now. Kirk has the easiest matchup in the league Sunday. I know what AJ Brown is capable of but it’s still hard to look past a 4 target 1 catch performance in an offense that can feature Henry or Corey Davis on any given week and a likely matchup with Marlon Humphrey.
I love AJ Brown, but he’s not a Devante Adams “set it and forget it” player when my other options have all had good weeks recently too. I need to pick the right two guys this week and they’re all pretty clumped together lately. In their last 4 games, all have had an over 18 performance, and besides Higgins and Meyers, all have had an under 5 performance. The 6 are all projected within 2 points of each other this week

His "lately" is last four days.

Meyers against the Hou D given his market share is the safest play of the bunch
I'm done trying to figure out Moore
AJ Brown is your upside play, yeah tougher match up but with him it really only takes 1 play to make your fantasy day.

I have Michael Thomas, Davante Adams, Chris Godwin, AJ Brown and Tee Higgins in 1 league. Aj Brown is still a “set it and forget it” player

Higgins is outscoring him over the last 4. Kirk gets an historically bad pass defense in what will be a shootout. Thielen gets Dallas. Meyers gets Houston. Both bottom tier pass defenses.
Brown gets one of the best pass defenses in the league. Are we pretending Brown is a clear and obvious play here with two other Titans in my lineup? Against a team that held him to 1 catch for 9 yards in the last meeting?
What am I missing?

He’s WR13 in PPG.
He’s WR26 in total points
What’s yalls definition of WR1? To me it’s the top 10 in a 10 team, top 12 in a 12 team, etc. So in my league and likely your league he is quite literally a WR2 by every metric

You quite literally said he was a borderline WR3.
Posted on 11/18/20 at 1:49 pm to RB10
Actually, I never said that. I said all of my guys are WR 2/3. That’s to be interpreted as WR2 or WR3, not borderline WR3
And that’s exactly what they are. 11, 13, 26, 28, 29, in PPG and then Meyers who’s down the list a ways. In my 10 team league they are all WR2 or WR3 in points per game.
The difference between Brown at 13 and Kirk at 29 is 2.4 PPG. A minuscule number when matchups are considered, thus the predicament
