Well, this hasn't aged well. Seems like you're the ignorant one. Not shocked though.

That's the sad(dest) truth about Title IX as it exists...

It proffers a false path to justice and victims are dissuaded from going to the authorities for what is clearly criminal accusations or occurrences. They are suckered into believing this false path will get them justice and all it gets, in the best case, is punitive administrative actions.

If your house catches on fire, while it is burning, do you call your mortgage company? No you call the fire department. After the fire is out you call insurance and notify the mortgage company.

Contact the cops first, then the prosecutor, then demand they notify the school (Title IX) on your behalf.

Unfortunately true. The individuals involved went to the title 9 office. Had a discussion and then refused to report the incident to them either.

No woman should subject to sexual assault... it is awful.

UN fortunately I have an experience of a family friend that went through the legal/police/court system with one of these allegations. The allegation was months after the fact... no evidence of any kind. He said she said situation. Yet the alleged perpetrator was held in jail for 45 days. While the police/DA investigated nothing.. no rape kit no witnesses ..

So “victims” can tell an administrator about an “assault” but they can’t tell the police? Makes sense...especially when you don’t want people asking questions about what actually happened.

Was the problem "shame", that she met a guy, on the first date, got drunk, passed out, was raped, photographed, nude and had the photo posted on public media?
Then instead of going to the police and exposing him as a molester, she made the decision to protect his "reputation". Instead of making it public and warning other young women the guy is a risky date, she kept quite. $hame! $hame!

The amount of victim blaming here is disgusting yet not surprising.

Also a lot of people who have never been falsely accused dragging kids names through the mud without due process...two sides to every coin

Certainly true. That’s why “believe all women” is nonsense. Women are humans and humans lie, misremember, confuse, and conflate.

But it’s pretty clear now that Derrius Guice and Drake Davis are monsters and as such, they were the focus of the story. That’s the victims I’m talking about.

Yes, any one accused should be taken out and shot. No trial, no excuses. Believe all victims! In fact, DBG touched me when I went to his dorm at 3:00 am drunk with a bottle of vodka. I didn’t say yes three times. Go get him.

In the adult world

this is the key phrase here, it's not the adult world, they are kids. Also these are people they know and trusted a lot more complicated than simply going to the police.

quote:

“report it to the police immediately” should be the default response to ANY person who alleges to be a victim of a sexual assault.

this is incredibly naive and also shows a lack of understanding about the issue. One of the many problem with sexual assault is the cops don't always believe the victims.

you guys that keep saying this clearly don't understand all these issues. If a stranger drags you behind a dumpster or breaks into your apartment and rapes you you call the cops. If you get really drunk at a party and some frat boy starts trying to have sex with you what do you expect the cops to do/say? and before someone says "don't get too drunk then" that doesn't excuse it. Theses issues are much more complicated and made worse by the attitudes many of you are showing here which only feed the extreme activists.

Just reading these post shows exactly why rape/sexual assault is the most underreported crime.

“Thanks Obama” actually works here. The Obama Administration fricked up sexual assault handling so badly it’s almost as if it was done on purpose. They moved the responsibility from the police to the universities themselves. And it’s been a disaster over and over again.

That's exactly what they should do.

Cops, prosecutor, and then have them contact lsu.
Then there is no gray area

I know most major college football programs have these problems but damn it looks bad when it's out in the open like this.
People would rather sweep it under the rug.
Rape is an ugly thing.
Just listen to what some of the posters on here are saying

True, but victims of sexual assault also have common sense which tells them to go (or not go) to the police who can actually make an arrest as opposed to going the fricked up way of going to the university so they can go to the police and the police can now come to you so they can make an arrest?

Huge difference. If an arrest is made, they would have to testify in court and re-live the incident. There is also the aspect that the defense will try and bring up any and all sexual encounters a woman has had in order to paint her as a “whore” to discredit her.
